Disney Dreamlight Valley Removes Items From Scrooge’s Shop!

In the past few months, there hasn’t been much news regarding Disney Dreamlight Valley. Fans are eagerly anticipating a timeframe for the addition of Aladdin and Jasmine, which is slated for early 2025, but Gameloft has yet to provide any new information. During these periods between significant updates, many players enjoy customizing their valley. Scrooge McDuck’s shop, with its constantly changing inventory, plays a crucial role in these projects, particularly when it comes to obtaining duplicates of items from Star Paths and other in-game activities. However, some Disney Dreamlight Valley fans have noticed that certain items previously available from Scrooge’s shop have mysteriously disappeared without an official explanation.

Generally speaking, Scrooge’s store is where players often go to acquire copies of their preferred goods from the Premium Shop, quest rewards, and Star Paths within Disney Dreamlight Valley. Apart from a select few unique quest items, almost all types of furniture can be repurchased from Scrooge McDuck. This flexibility allows players to adjust their interior designs, including adding more items as desired. However, some players have noticed that certain items they once saw in Scrooge’s inventory are no longer available, and they express disappointment about this change.

Apparently GameLoft has retroactively removed some items from Scrooge’s catalog, for apparently no reason

The objects under discussion are predominantly connected to the world of “Monsters, Inc”, such as the Monster Mug Rack and the Monsters, Inc Computer. Additionally, a Small Quirky Teapot is also involved. It appears that numerous players own multiple versions of the Mug Rack and Quirky Teapot, claiming they bought them from Scrooge’s catalog. However, these items have been taken off the market, and it remains mysterious as to why these particular furniture pieces cannot be repurchased when many others can. Some players point out that this isn’t an unusual occurrence; quest items in Scrooge’s shop have been made available for duplicate purchase, then withdrawn at a later time.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Fans Want Their Duplicate Items Back

User Mellon1998 isn’t alone in feeling annoyed that these items can’t be repurchased from Scrooge. One gamer expressed this by saying, “Limiting decorative items to only one really stifles creativity within the game, which Gameloft claims to promote.” Others were more straightforward, stating, “Having just one item of something is pointless.

According to reports, when players inquired about the vanished items in Scrooge’s store, Gameloft customer support stated that these items were never intended to be offered for purchase in the first place. The items appearing briefly was allegedly a glitch that was fixed in an update, explaining why they could be bought one day and gone the next. However, this explanation doesn’t satisfy those eager to obtain the items to realize their decorative dreams. “I spent hours searching for that cute teapot in Scrooge’s shop,” laments one player, who was attempting to buy it just as it vanished from the store after its brief appearance.

The main concern among Disney Dreamlight Valley players isn’t just the disappearance of certain items, but rather the absence of transparent and reliable communication about these changes. The sudden removal of items without explanation has left some fans searching for them, with many speculating that they could reappear in the Premium Shop at a later date, requiring in-game currency to purchase. This speculation has led to concerns among players that Gameloft is prioritizing profits over its player base, potentially negatively impacting the game. Furthermore, this comes after Gameloft’s decision to revise their initial plans for Disney Dreamlight Valley to be free-to-play, causing some players to question Gameloft’s approach towards its customer base.

Currently, there’s no information available regarding bringing back the items to Scrooge’s store or offering them in the Premium Shop. Given that Gameloft has been rather silent about the game since the December’s Sew Delightful update, it’s reasonable to expect that when we hear from Disney Dreamlight Valley again, it will probably be about a future update, not about missing shop items.
