As a long-time Disney enthusiast and avid gamer, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming update of Disney Dreamlight Valley! Ever since the introduction of Simba and Nala, I’ve been yearning for more characters from The Lion King to join the fold. Now, with Timon and Pumbaa on their way, I can’t help but feel a warm, nostalgic shiver run down my spine.
Get ready for the upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley update, “Jungle Getaway,” coming October 9th! Earlier hints this week have been followed by a full reveal today from Gameloft. This exciting new addition to the game will bring Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King into the mix. Unlike previous announcements, these characters won’t have their own realm, but instead, players will revisit the existing one that initially introduced Simba and Nala. What makes this update unique is that the Lion King Realm will be experienced during daytime hours.

After settling Timon and Pumbaa into their new abode in the valley, I, as a gamer, can embark on various adventures with each character. For Timon, it’s all about helping him find peace and get accustomed to his new surroundings. On the other hand, Pumbaa will be learning the art of pottery! As per today’s developer update, crafting clay will be less demanding this time around. Completing quests with these two characters will reward me with some snazzy new avatar accessories.
In the upcoming update, a new trail called “The Night Show Star Path” will be introduced. This path is inspired by music festivals and rock concerts, and players can anticipate costumes and hairdos reminiscent of Disney villains, princesses, and rock musicians. Rewards along this star path include decorative items like neon lights, pyrotechnic displays, and even replicas of real-life backpack designs from Loungefly. Gameloft has teamed up with Loungefly for this update, allowing players to earn two exclusive Loungefly rewards: a Dragon Maleficent backpack and a Sorcerer Mickey reward. Additionally, there will be a glow-in-the-dark Ghost Mickey Loungefly up for grabs, but the method for acquiring it has yet to be disclosed.
Lastly, not in any way less important, the upcoming update brings several user-friendly enhancements such as tweaks to Scrooge’s Store and fresh possibilities for item arrangement. Previously, Gameloft mentioned that this update would be on a smaller scale compared to others, but it appears players will find plenty of exciting features to explore once it goes live next week!
