Disney and Dlala Studios have confirmed the arrival of “Disney Illusion Island Starring Mickey and Friends” for PC (available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and GOG), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The digital version is set to drop on May 30th, but These special editions will include an exclusive poster, and they’ll hit stores in North America on May 30th. For my friends in Europe, you’ll have to wait a little longer – the release date for you is set for June 27th. Can’t wait to dive into this magical adventure with Mickey and his pals!
In the latest multi-platform update, the popular title “Disney Illusion Island Starring Mickey and Friends” is set to introduce fresh material. Specifically, Scrooge McDuck will grant playable characters a unique talent called “Dig”. Using this skill, characters can uncover hidden items which can be exchanged for permanent enhancements within the exciting new game mode titled “Cave Adventuring Scavenger Hunt” (C.A.S.H.). This expansion is scheduled to debut on the Nintendo Switch as well.

According to the preview, in addition to fresh material, the multiformat launch of Disney Illusion Island promises enhanced graphics due to the high-resolution capabilities it offers on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Earlier this week, there were initial indications of a cross-platform launch when PSDeals managed to uncover information about it from behind the scenes at the PlayStation Store. The game will incorporate all the gameplay elements from the original Nintendo Switch version, such as offline cooperative multiplayer for 2 to 4 players and the option for players to aid each other using distinct abilities.
Initially unveiled in September 2022, Disney’s Illusion Island was finally rolled out on the Nintendo Switch platform. A teaser trailer preceded its launch date in July 2023, offering a sneak peek into the game’s various exploration zones and the unique skills of each of the four playable characters that players will control.
In Disney’s “Illusion Island”, players embark on an adventure assuming the characters of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy or Donald. The island serves as the game’s setting. Similar to other games in the metroidvania genre, the layout requires thorough exploration by the player. This exploration is essential for discovering hidden upgrades and shortcuts that will aid their journey deeper into the story of the game.
Initially, the game received mostly positive feedback from critics. On Metacritic, its aggregate score is approximately 73. In our assessment, we rated it 8 out of 10. We appreciated the stunning graphics and animations, as well as the amusing writing that gives the game a captivating charm. However, we noted some issues with the depth of its gameplay mechanics, and occasionally encountered awkward boss battles due to the absence of combat.
