2025 looks promising for Disney Lorcana with Reign of Jafar and Fabled, and there’s more to come! Ravensburger has unveiled the first glimpse of the final Lorcana set for 2025, called Whispers in the Well. Arriving in the last quarter of 2025, this set includes beloved Disney characters such as Mickey and Ariel, but it also hints at a significant expansion to another popular Disney franchise – Gargoyles! Needless to say, we are beyond excited about this development!
As I cast my gaze to Ariel’s left side, I spot a winged figure nestled by a tree in the backdrop. It appears to be none other than the charming fighter Broadway from Disney’s Gargoyles, a character I’ve always admired! Lorcana has been introducing beloved characters from animated TV shows, and the Rescue Rangers were the latest addition. Now it seems like it’s the turn of the Gargoyles, and I can hardly contain my excitement to discover the cards and see who else will join this roster!
It’s likely that we’ll see the primary Gargoyles characters such as Goliath, Elisa, Hudson, Demona, Brooklyn, Lexington, Bronx, and Xanatos, but there might be some unexpected extra additions too. Also, it’s uncertain if all main cast members will debut in the initial release, but typically when a new franchise like Lorcana is launched, several characters are presented together in the first set.
Additionally, we have uncovered a few aspects of the Whispers in the Well tale, centered on an enigmatic kind of Glimmer called Ethereal Glimmers, yet their nature remains largely unexplored. As you delve into the cards and lore, you’ll discover more about them, and hints within the artwork suggest other characters that will appear.
Additionally, Disney is developing a live-action Gargoyles series, although they’re still refining the approach. Fingers crossed it launches soon! Meanwhile, rest assured that the popular series will continue in the world of Lorcana, preparing for an even more epic second installment.
