As a dedicated Disney+ subscriber with years of streaming experience under my belt, I’m thrilled to hear about the platform’s potential expansion into “live” channels for Disney-owned content. The convenience of having a curated selection of films and shows playing continuously is an appealing prospect that reminds me of the good old days of traditional television.
According to recent reports in the Wall Street Journal, Disney+ is considering significant upgrades to enhance user experience. The media giant is reportedly exploring the creation of “live” channels for its exclusive content. If approved, this feature would provide a continuous stream of movies and shows similar to Pluto TV or traditional television. This would allow users to avoid the hassle of deciding what to watch next as the service would curate content for them.
According to the preliminary information, potential channels under consideration are those showcasing the Marvel Cinematic Universe and The Simpsons. However, additional options may be included based on marketing demand.
I’m excited to share that Disney+ is not limiting itself to just one major update lately. In fact, they made an announcement earlier this year about offering a bundled subscription with Max, which is HBO Max, their rival Warner Bros.’ streaming platform.
Following the successful debut of Hulu on Disney+, Disney Entertainment’s direct-to-consumer president Joe Earley announced a new bundle with Max. This addition will provide subscribers with even more options and worth, as stated in his declaration. This remarkable collaboration prioritizes viewers, granting them entry to an extensive collection of box office hits, original content, and an impressive three libraries showcasing top-tier brands and entertainment currently available in streaming.
JB Perrette, the CEO and president of global streaming and games for Warner Bros. Discovery, stated, “With this latest addition, consumers will have unparalleled access to an extensive library of entertainment at an exceptional value in streaming. This is expected to attract new subscribers and boost customer loyalty. By providing such a vast selection of content across all the related genres offered by these three services, we are paving the way for an exciting future in the industry.”
At present, the package hasn’t been released, and the cost for the service is still a secret.
