Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration Is Amazing, And I Hope The Resort Learns One Important Lesson

I’ve been to Disneyland so often that it feels like a second home, yet each visit offers fresh surprises. Even though the general layout remains consistent, there’s always something novel or intriguing to discover. Currently, they are commemorating their 70th anniversary, offering lots of new and nostalgic experiences for fans.

I’ve penned down my perspectives on Disneyland’s 70th anniversary extravaganza, a harmonious fusion of novelty and nostalgia. The event was filled with enjoyable moments as I reveled in the latest entertainment such as the Tapestry of Happiness, revisited cherished classics like the Paint the Night Parade, and even took delight in the enhanced attractions. Currently, Disneyland seems almost flawless, but this perfection leaves me apprehensive about what might change once the 70th anniversary festivities conclude.

Disneyland Resort Has So Much To Keep Fans Busy

For a couple of days last week, I visited Disneyland Resort for a sneak peek at their 70th Anniversary Celebration’s exceptional entertainment lineup. By the time it ended, I was more drained than I had been after years of visiting the park. There’s an incredible amount of things to explore and activities to participate in at the resort currently.

Spending an evening at Disneyland Park by yourself promises a lively and energetic late-night experience, with four distinct nighttime performances for you to enjoy. The classic Fantasmic performance is joined by fireworks, a night parade, and a fresh projection show on the exterior of It’s A Small World.

You’ve got quite a packed schedule for your night, and unless you plan to stay just one night, I wouldn’t recommend trying to squeeze everything in at once. However, the variety of activities is truly impressive! Notably, both Disneyland Resort parks feature daytime and evening parades. The entertainment options at night are particularly captivating, and with all the new food choices available, you definitely won’t be able to sample it all during a single visit. It’s quite an exciting prospect!

Besides the usual attractions and performances, there are numerous interactive activities to entertain park visitors even while they’re strolling around. Guests can opt for a unique “key” that interacts with various spots throughout the park, and new for the 70th, MagicBand+ contact points have been introduced which make the MagicBand+ an attractive purchase at Disneyland.

This resort seems quite bustling, perhaps more so than in a while. Unsurprisingly, Disneyland has pulled out all the stops for their grand anniversary, and I only hope the excitement continues even after the celebration ends.

Disneyland Resort Needs To Keep The Fun Coming Even After The 70th Anniversary Has Ended

By the close of summer 2026, the 70th Anniversary festivities will conclude. With this closure, it’s likely that both decorations and some of the introduced entertainment will be dismantled. I find that acceptable, but I sincerely hope new attractions or events take their place afterwards.

It would be ideal if Disneyland and Disney California Adventure had daily parades throughout the year, offering exciting outdoor activities beyond rides and performances that guests can enjoy regularly, not just during special events or parties. This is what I believe contributes to an enchanting Disney experience on a day-to-day basis.

As the 70th anniversary celebration comes to an end, let’s aim for the lively atmosphere to persist, either by keeping the current entertainment or introducing something fresh. Whether it’s a comeback of a beloved act or a new sensation, the resort should maintain its bustling schedule. Lately, Disneyland has felt vibrant and alive in a way that I’ve missed, and I sincerely hope this energy continues. Losing that would be a real pity.
