Divorced After 30 Years, Now Racing Together!

In the past four series of Race Across the World, audiences have met numerous teams consisting of mothers and children, siblings, and couples. However, one team in this season stands out uniquely from the rest.

In simpler terms, Yin shared, “Our marriage lasted more than three decades before it ended. Following our separation, I spent three years with someone else, but he passed away unexpectedly in September 2023. This event sent me into a very difficult time, and Gaz was the one who helped me get through it.

When Yin noticed the advertisement for Race Across the World in its fifth season, she referred to her application as a spur-of-the-moment choice.

For Gaz, the decision was remarkably straightforward, given his extensive travel experience during his youth, which often involved lengthy journeys.

He shared, “Being that I had traveled a bit in the past, about 30 years ago, I was really looking forward to this new adventure. Additionally, the idea of avoiding work for twelve weeks was enticing, but it also presented a challenge and an opportunity to be tested and pushed, which were all factors.

In the upcoming match, pairs such as Elizabeth & Letitia, Fin & Sioned, Brian & Melvyn, and Caroline & Tom (mother and son) will face off against Yin and Gaz, who are siblings.

This year, the teams will begin their race in Beijing, then travel across China, Nepal, and India, eventually reaching their finishing point.
