He explained to SFZ Magazine that the decision about season 16 is a matter for the industry, similar to any other business, and it requires time. Fans of Doctor Who should not expect news about the renewal of season 16 until after the next season has been aired.
He mentioned that the decision should be made following the broadcast of Season 2, which is what they anticipate and have been working towards all along.
Davies expresses complete assurance and comfort about Doctor Who’s future after the BBC struck a deal with Disney. This agreement means that Disney Plus will serve as the platform for the show worldwide.
The partnership has also seen an injection of dramatically increased budget for Doctor Who.
This holiday season, the much-loved series Doctor Who will return to your screens with a special Christmas episode titled “Joy to the World.” The script was written by the previous showrunner, Steven Moffat.
In the upcoming season 15, Millie Gibson’s character Ruby Sunday will reappear alongside the Fifteenth Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa. Additionally, a fresh companion named Belinda Chadra, portrayed by Varada Sethu, will join them on screen next year.
In simpler terms, the upcoming episode should be broadcasted in May 2025, as per previous statements by Davies, which indicated that it would follow a year after Season 14 was aired.
Doctor Who season 15 will be released in May 2025.
