Fans of the long-running sci-fi series, Doctor Who, have grown restless as they wait for news on its future, particularly since its association with Disney.

According to Russell T Davies, there’s no need for them to fret, since he believes that things are unfolding exactly as anticipated.

Even though it seems like we’ve been waiting quite some time for the formal renewal of season 16, the showrunner explains that such delays are common in these situations.

He explained to SFZ Magazine that the decision about season 16 is a matter for the industry, similar to any other business, and it requires time. Fans of Doctor Who should not expect news about the renewal of season 16 until after the next season has been aired.

He mentioned that the decision should be made following the broadcast of Season 2, which is what they anticipate and have been working towards all along.
