Doctor Who fans unveils Fifteenth Doctor’s sonic screwdriver – pre-order now

As a lifelong Whovian with more Sonic Screwdrivers than I can count (and that’s saying something!), the latest addition to my collection is truly a sight for sore Time Lord eyes. The Fifteenth Doctor’s Sonic, with its unique design and innovative features, has me feeling like I’ve been transported right onto the TARDIS set!

After several months since the escapades of the Fifteenth Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday, the thrill persists, as enthusiasts can now pre-order the Doctor’s reliable sonic screwdriver for their own collection!

The screwdriver is available to pre-order from Character Options at £39.99.

In the latest season, the Doctor’s tool sports an entirely fresh form and layout, setting it apart as the one-of-a-kind interpretation so far.

From my perspective as a movie buff, I’m thrilled about the Character Options upgrade. It boasts some fresh attributes, such as a distinctively designed, rotatable Power Core embellished with a sparkling Power Crystal Chamber and realistic on/off audio effects.

Additionally, you’ll find three distinct audio effects accompanied by light effects: “A common sound akin to what we hear, a digital-like sound for data, and a sound resembling a lifeform scanner.

The spring-out and retract Emitter section also has its own sound, as does the slide out analyser.

You can now purchase the sonic screwdriver of the Fifteenth Doctor from @CharacterToysUK. 🪛✨

Beyond just the exclusive limited-edition Sonic model, you can also pre-order a conventional version of this device from multiple outlets, such as Forbidden Planet among others.

In a reveal that took place in December 2023, Ncuti Gatwa described the Fifteenth Doctor’s screwdriver as an impressive artifact of Gallifreyan technology. He went on to say that it assists the Doctor in getting out of tricky situations and boasts numerous handy compartments as well.

Gatwa particularly enjoyed an aspect of the screwdriver – it bore a message penned in Gallifreyan script, a Rwandan adage that can be translated as “a sharp tongue outmatches a mighty warrior”.

In the realm of sci-fi television, I find myself captivated by the innovative design of the latest Sonic device, powered by a vibrant purple crystal. As Yascha Dutta so eloquently puts it, this crystal serves as a sort of “USB port”, enabling The Doctor to seamlessly integrate it with various other technologies, making for some truly fascinating scenes!
