Doctor Who reveals dazzling new season 15 trailer – as Ruby Sunday returns

The forthcoming Doctor Who season is ready for us all, filled with opportunities to explore time and space. A thrilling new trailer has been released to build up anticipation.

Out now is a sneak peek at the upcoming storyline, hinting at the encounter between Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and Varada Sethu as Belinda. The Doctor promptly showcases the TARDIS without hesitation.

Even though Belinda desires to leave, the Doctor explains that there’s no need for haste since, as it turns out, it is indeed a time machine.

The preview hints at journeying through various timeframes, such as 1952 and the 51st century, among others.

Additionally, we catch another sneak peek into the forthcoming Eurovision event, titled the Interstellar Song Contest, which seems to be a visual treat for all spectators.

Additionally, we find character Benjamin Chivers entering the scene, where he informs Belinda that their arrival is in the year 2007.

Chivers is primarily recognized for his part in The Devil’s Hour, however, there’s still no information available regarding the specifics of his role in Doctor Who.

Additionally, we catch a glimpse of Belinda collaborating with Christopher Chung, the newly cast Cassio from Slow Horses. This association has been officially verified.

In a conversation with Belinda and actress Caoilfhionn Dunne from the movie A Thousand Blows, Belinda inquires whether they are familiar with the concept of Planet Earth. In response, Dunne’s character expresses that she has no prior knowledge of it.

Absolutely, it’s exciting news for fans that Millie Gibson’s character, Ruby Sunday, will reappear. In one scene, she appears to be deep in thought, gazing off into the distance with a slightly disheveled look due to the wind.

Previously, it was announced that she would reappear during the upcoming season, yet it remains uncertain whether she will feature consistently across all episodes or only appear in selected ones. We can only find out more as the series unfolds.

Among the returning characters for this series are Anita Dobson, Bonnie Langford, and Jemma Redgrave. Additionally, some new faces have joined the cast: Evelyn Miller, Ariyon Bakare, Julie Dray, Jonah Hauer-King, and Alan Cumming (who provides the voice for animated character Mr Ring-a-Ding, as seen in the trailer).

In the upcoming season, viewers are invited to embark on a grand adventure alongside the Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, and Belinda Chandra, portrayed by Varada Sethu, as they strive to return Belinda to Earth.

However, an enigmatic power prevents their homecoming, and the Time Lord travelers in the TARDIS will encounter perils, fierce adversaries, and horrors more extreme than they’ve ever experienced.

Season 15 of Doctor Who is set to air on April 12, 2025. It will first become available on BBC iPlayer at 8 am, followed by a broadcast on BBC One later the same day.
