First appearing in 1972 against the Third Doctor, these amphibious reptilian humanoids cause turmoil when they emerge from the seas, leading to a global crisis that demands UNIT’s intervention. The ensemble cast was unveiled as well, featuring Jemma Redgrave and Alexander Devrient reprising their roles as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, UNIT’s Chief Scientific Officer, and Colonel Christofer Ibrahim, respectively. Returning to the series are Ruth Madeley, portraying UNIT Scientific Advisor Shirley-Anne Bingham from the 60th Anniversary specials; and Colin McFarlane reprising his role as General Austin Pierce from Torchwood: Children of Earth.

Davies playfully hinted, “It’s not the Midshipman Frame and Tish Jones duo as you might expect, but perhaps it could be.” He added, “Big Finish has the power to make that happen.”
