The identity of Anita Dobson’s Mrs Flood is a mystery that’s been plaguing Doctor Who viewers since the 2023 Christmas special, with showrunner Russell T Davies now addressing one of the fan theories about her.
In the recently concluded season of the BBC sci-fi series featuring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, Mrs. Flood concluded the story from a snowy rooftop, wrapped in a fluffy white cloak. Notably, she breached the conventional boundaries of the narrative, a technique that has become characteristic of her role.
In an interview with SFX magazine, as reported by GamesRadar, Davies hinted at the popular fan theory suggesting Mrs. Flood could be a reincarnation of his former companion Romana. He didn’t completely dismiss this idea because she wore a similar costume.
In a recent interview, I shared my thoughts about an outstanding moment: “She left us all in stitches during that scene, her talent is simply extraordinary. Next year, get ready for even more brilliant responses and innovative solutions.” I added, “Given her white fur coat, don’t you think people might mistake her for Romana?”
Davies remarked: “I assure you, I’ll provide answers to that question. Regrettably, it will have to wait until next year. Let me tell you, we had an absolute blast working on this story. Anita Dobson – I can hardly contain myself! – The best is yet to come from Anita Dobson.” (or) “Davies stated: “I guarantee answers for that query, but it will be revealed next year.
