Last week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, additional captivating clips from this year’s previously teased movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, were unveiled.
As a movie enthusiast, I’ve just discovered that the latest trailer unveiled some fresh faces among the cast, one of whom is a familiar face for Doctor Who aficionados.
Indeed, it’s accurate that Mark Gatiss has become part of Marvel’s space adventure set in the ’60s. According to IGN, his character is the host of a talk show named The Ted Gilbert Show, which seems to be inspired by variety shows popular during that time. He narrates the Fantastic Four’s story up until now for the audience.
Gatiss is no stranger to the world of space-bending sci-fi, both in front of and behind the camera.
Since the 1990s, he’s been deeply immersed in the Doctor Who universe, penning books, episodes, and audio stories, in addition to portraying four distinct characters: Professor Lazarus, Danny Boy, Gantok, and more recently, The Captain.

As a diehard comic book fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be joining Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in bringing the iconic Fantastic Four crew to life – Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. Can’t wait to dive into this fantastic journey!
Just as the previous trailer had hinted, the newly unveiled footage didn’t disclose scenes of Reed Richards utilizing his elastic abilities or a complete revelation of Galactus. However, it did offer glimpses of Julia Garner’s portrayal of Silver Surfer in motion.
Not only was it verified that Sue Storm is with child, but a hint was dropped about the perils awaiting the quartet, as well as New York City, due to Galactus’ looming threat.
