*Warning: Spoilers ahead for Doctor Who episode Wish World.*
Quite a bit transpired in the most recent Doctor Who episode, Wish World – The Rani (Archie Panjabi) sprang into motion, along with recurring characters such as Conrad Clark (Jonah Hauer-King), Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford), and Rogue (Jonathan Groff). Notably, the menacing classic villain Omega is about to make an appearance.
In the cinematic world I adore, as a film enthusiast, I found myself captivated by the first segment of the season 15 finale. This part saw The Doctor, portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa, and Belinda, played by Varada Sethu, venturing into an alternate dimension conjured up by Conrad and materialized by the Rani.
However, in keeping with the classic Doctor Who style, there’s much more happening under the surface – indeed, it’s quite figuratively so this time around!
Here’s everything you need to know about how Wish World ended.
Doctor Who – Wish World ending explained: What is the Rani’s plan?
Rani, along with Conrad and the deity Desiderium, constructed the Realm of Wishes. The intention was for the Doctor to break its illusion using his powerful doubts, a task beyond human capability. This action would enable her to glimpse “The One Who is Missing”, also known as Omega.
In the attempt to return Belinda home, the Doctor had been employing a device called a vindicator. This same gadget was subsequently utilized to weave a network of power, drawing the Doctor into the realm known as the Wish World. The energy generated by this device served to enhance Desiderium’s power and grant Conrad the ability to construct an entire world.

Rani suggests that even small uncertainties can shatter the very fabric of existence, but the questions posed by a Time Lord tear apart the foundations of reality itself, providing her with a glimpse into the secretive realm where Omega lies concealed.
At the close of the episode, the Rani commences destroying the London replica within the Wish World, causing the Doctor to be hurled from the very brink of the cosmos.
Plus, the Rani says all she has ever wanted is life… which brings us to Poppy!
How is Poppy real?
While he’s plummeting, the Doctor pleads with the Rani, saying, “Aren’t you seeing this? I have a daughter, Poppy, who’s real. Haven’t you ever wondered about the implications of that fact?
It’s been suggested on Reddit that Poppy might be the Doctor’s daughter, born from a combination of the Doctor’s DNA, possibly even Belinda’s, and human DNA. The Rani, who has always desired life, could have engineered this hybrid (half-Time Lord, half-human).
To find out for sure, fans will have to tune into the finale.

What is the Doctor and the Rani’s relationship?
Previously, it was widely believed that the Doctor and the Rani had been longstanding adversaries, but the Rani proposes an alternate twist to their relationship.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the upcoming season of “Doctor Who,” especially since showrunner Russell T Davies hinted in Doctor Who Magazine that there are some major surprises in store – not just for the audience, but also for the Doctor herself. These revelations promise to shake up the foundations of Gallifrey and even redefine the Doctor’s relationship with characters like the Rani. It’s going to be an exciting ride!
From what I’ve observed, it appears that there might be more depth to the relationship between the Doctor and Rani than we initially assumed. There’s an intriguing complexity that suggests a deeper bond.
What does this mean for Susan?

So, if Poppy is the Doctor’s daughter, presumably she’s also Susan’s (Carole Ann Ford) mother.
In the previous season of The Devil’s Chord, viewers may recall the Doctor bringing up Susan. However, he explained that, at that point, he did not have any children… yet.
Does that mean Susan was born to Poppy in the future, and then sent back in time? Very possibly!
Fans will have to wait for the finale to be sure, though.
