Doctor Who unveils all-new escape room with Fifteenth Doctor battling the Daleks

As a devoted fan who has been following the Doctor Who saga since the days of Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the Fifteenth Doctor’s encounter with the Daleks in the escape room, A Dalek Awakens. The anticipation has been building ever since Ncuti Gatwa took over from David Tennant as the Doctor, and I’ve been eagerly waiting for him to face his most iconic enemy on screen.

At long last, the Fifteenth Doctor is given an opportunity to confront the Daleks within the reborn Doctor Who-inspired escape room titled “A Dalek Wakes Up.

In 2020, the escape room located in Reading was formally launched, but it’s since undergone an update. Now, enthusiasts can team up with character Fifteen (played by Ncuti Gatwa) to confront the Doctor’s most renowned adversary.

A promotional video, shared on the official Doctor Who social platforms, features a Dalek questioning: “Do you believe you can overcome the Daleks?

After that, we catch Gatwa’s voice as the Doctor, exclaiming: “At last, you’ve arrived! Now, let’s get acquainted. By the way, on this vessel with you is a Dalek.

As the Daleks approach menacingly, they threaten: “With your cherished Doctor absent, humanity stands defenseless. Eliminate them!

Peter Capaldi, who succeeded David Tennant in portraying The Doctor, once expressed his eagerness to confront the Daleks, since he has not yet come across this famous adversary on-screen.

He shared with Entertainment Weekly that there have been conversations suggesting he never encountered a Dalek, but if that’s true, he would certainly be upset about it!

Once I finish watching ‘Doctor Who’, it’s essential that I’ve encountered a Dalek. It seems absurd to play the role of ‘Doctor Who’ without having a confrontation with a Dalek!

Previously, Davies explained why he excluded certain characters from Gatwa’s first season by saying: “I feel like we’ve seen quite a bit of the Daleks recently.

Since Chris Chibnall’s Christmas specials consistently feature the Daleks, they seem to be recurring annually. Therefore, it might be beneficial for a break or a change in the tradition.

This Christmas, you’ll see Gatwa back on your screens in the holiday special “Joy to the World,” penned by Steven Moffat, alongside special guest star Nicola Coughlan.
