Doctor Who’s Catherine Tate joins comedy series Going Dutch

As a longtime admirer of Catherine Tate‘s versatile acting prowess, I can hardly contain my excitement about her latest role in Going Dutch! Her knack for portraying diverse characters has always left me in stitches, and this new part seems tailor-made for her unique talents.

Catherine Tate has secured her upcoming television appearance, as she is now set to be part of the cast for the American comedy series titled “Going Dutch.

The show will feature Denis Leary, an American comedian known for “Rescue Me,” as a blustery U.S. Army Colonel. After a scathing outburst, he faces punishment by being transferred to the most insignificant army base globally, located in the Netherlands. His mission there is to restore military decorum and professionalism.

As reported by Deadline, Tate has been tipped for a significant recurring role portraying Katja Vanderhoff, a character known to be an intelligent, attractive Dutch woman with a doctorate in intersectional feminism. Interestingly, she holds two influential positions – the head of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and the proprietor of the local brothel.

Additionally, experienced actor Joe Morton is also among the cast, portraying General Davidson – a longtime adversary of the Colonel – who has surpassed him in the military hierarchy.

Tate and Morton become part of an additional cast, which also features Danny Pudi known from Community, Laci Mosley who was in iCarly, Hal Cumpston starring in The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Dempsey Bryk from Willow.

In this production, Dave stars as Taylor Misiak portraying Captain Maggie Quinn, who previously served as the interim leader of the base and coincidentally is the colonel’s estranged daughter.

The series has been written by Joel Church-Cooper and will air in the US on Fox, with no word yet on where or when it might broadcast in the UK.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when we hear any developments on that front.

Apart from playing Donna in Doctor Who, Tate also gained fame through her popular self-titled sketch comedy series during the mid 2000s. More recently, she has appeared in shows like Hard Cell and Queen of Oz.
