The beloved series Doctor Who begins its 15th season soon, with Ncuti Gatwa taking charge. The premiere episode is just around the corner, and by the weekend, you’ll have only a week left until episode 2 airs!
Under the title “Lux,” the second episode of season 15 is set to broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer this coming Saturday, April 19th, starting at 7:15 pm.
The story unfolds in vibrant ’50s Miami, where the Doctor and Belinda (played by Varada Sethu) delve into the mystery of fifteen missing individuals. During their investigation, they cross paths with a man named Mr Ring-a-Ding, but things aren’t as straightforward as they appear with him.
In the spirit of a dedicated Whovian, I’ve been following the insights from our brilliant showrunner, Russell T Davies, on what lies ahead in the upcoming episodes.
Davies said: “I hope kids will love Mr Ring-a-Ding while also finding him scary.
Occasionally, there’s an unsettling feeling about it: the moment when the character on the screen catches your gaze, recognizing that you’re watching them. Yet, there’s an undeniable excitement associated with such instances.

This season introduces Varada Sethu as the Doctor’s traveling partner, making her the first non-white pair with the Doctor inside the TARDIS. According to Gatwa, this change represents a significant step forward for the show.
It’s amazing what media is capable of, and it’s demonstrating this ability. However, it’s equally thrilling to imagine a time when having non-white leads won’t be such a big deal.
Doctor Who returns on Saturday 12th April on BBC One and iPlayer.
