Documentary on Will Ospreay's Final Days in Japan and Journey to AEW Released

As a huge fan of Will Ospreay, I’m absolutely thrilled that he’s released this documentary detailing his final days in New Japan Pro Wrestling and the independent scene. His journey into becoming one of AEW’s fastest rising stars has been nothing short of inspiring, and it’s fascinating to see how much those companies played a role in his personal growth.

Will Ospreay, a prominent wrestler for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has recently released a documentary detailing his final days as a top wrestler in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and on the independent scene. The film focuses on his last match with RevPro being highlighted. Additionally, it explores Ospreay’s dual life in Japan and expresses his deep-rooted appreciation for the culture and people.

In his post on X, Ospreay expressed gratitude for the significant roles New Japan and Revolution Pro played in helping him grow into a mature adult during his tenure with them. He is deeply thankful for their support and fondly remembers his time there. A heartfelt appreciation goes out to Mark Ashley Films for filming and editing this documentary of his matches, which he hopes everyone will enjoy.

After making the bold move to join AEW in the US, Ospreay has quickly risen through the ranks and gained significant recognition. He clinched his initial title with the company during May’s Double or Nothing event, and has since been a major contender for the AEW World Championship. As we approach August, Ospreay is set to return to England for the first time since his last RevPro show, which was attended by AEW President Tony Khan. There’s a strong possibility that if AEW manages to secure a contract with former WWE star Ricochet, they could arrange a highly anticipated match between Ospreay and Ricochet at AEW All In.

“He may not have much time left on his contract, but I believe it’s nearing its end. I hope he understands that many of us value his performances and I’d love for him to return to compete against me once more. He sets the standard, he is the benchmark.”

Prior to engaging in that action, he is slated to face off against the erstwhile AEW World Champion MJF in the upcoming week. Their animosity towards one another has escalated significantly in the build-up to their encounter. MJF derided the champion as a “talentless hack,” which instigated a reaction from Ospreay on live television. Although fans are accustomed to Ospreay delivering passionate promos, they were left underwhelmed by his execution during Dynamite. He expressed regret for his misstep and assured fans that he would improve in the future.
