It’s clear that he knows more than he’s letting on, much like a certain friendly neighborhood Spider-Man who keeps his secrets close to his chest.
Actor Don Cheadle, who stars in Armor Wars, maintained a mysterious stance when asked about his return as Colonel James Rhodes for an upcoming Marvel series on The Today Show. When questioned about it, he playfully pretended ignorance, asking “What’s Armor Wars?” However, it is evident that Cheadle knows more than he’s revealing, and he won’t disclose any details until given approval by Kevin Feige or someone of higher rank. This casual exchange on the morning show has sparked curiosity about the current status of War Machine and whether the project is still in development.
Cheadle chuckled and replied, “What about Armor Wars? That’s a question I can’t answer right now.” The Marvel actor has been bound by secrecy from the higher-ups at MCU. “I could share the info, but then… well, let’s just say it would lead to unpleasant consequences for both of us,” he joked, as he’s only recently met you all. So, we’ll have to wait until Marvel Studios decides to reveal more about Armor Wars.

Interestingly, a year ago, Cheadle was more open about the Armor Wars project with GQ, discussing the rich potential in Rhodey’s background. With the conclusion of Secret Invasion, there’s an increased curiosity about James Rhodes’ identity. Essentially, the central query behind Armor Wars is who James Rhodes truly is. This intriguing question is something that Cheadle is eager to delve into when filming for this movie commences.
According to Cheadle, he’s excited about the upcoming Rhodey movie we’ll be producing. He believes that with each film, Rhodey is stepping further out of Tony Stark’s shadow and becoming his own character, but there’s still much more to discover about him. The movie will delve deeper into who Rhodey truly is. Initially planned as a series, it will now be a standalone film titled Armor Wars. So, he’s eagerly anticipating this project.
