Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is now globally accessible and has proven to be a significant triumph for the company, there’s no question they are eagerly anticipating their next big announcement. This upcoming release is none other than “Donkey Kong Bananza,” for which they will be hosting a special Nintendo Direct on June 18th at 6 AM Pacific Time.
Nintendo of America’s tweet suggests they will reveal approximately 15 minutes of fresh details, likely featuring new gameplay. Last April, during Treehouse Live, a significant amount of gameplay was unveiled, presenting Donkey Kong’s situation (and updated design) as well as the gameplay structure. The upcoming presentation resembles Super Mario Odyssey, but with the unique feature of breaking through terrain.
Donkey Kong’s capabilities extend beyond the ordinary; he can uproot and hurl ground at foes or perform Turf Surfing, essentially transforming the terrain into a surfboard. The narrative unfolds as we attempt to recover the Banadium Gems from a newly-emerged villainous group, delving deeper and deeper into Ingot Isle. It’s possible we’ll uncover more information about these antagonists (and possibly discover what part Pauline plays).
