Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager flying this Halloween.
This year, Hoda and Jenna took inspiration from a well-known movie scene for their costumes, appearing on the Today plaza as characters Jack and Rose from Titanic.
In this case, Jenna played the role of Kate Winslet’s character Rose, accurately portraying her in a blue gown similar to the original, complete with a white scarf and a long, flowing red wig.
Hoda, on the other hand, enjoyed her final Halloween party dressing up as Jack, Leo DiCaprio’s character. At 60 years old, she seemed almost unidentifiable after transforming herself with a short brown wig, pants, and suspenders.
However, despite the significant change in her appearance compared to her norm, Hoda recognized that the new look echoed her old styling choices.
She playfully remarked, “I feel just like my seventh-grader self,” in a peek at her costume setup, posted on Hoda and Jenna’s Instagram. “It’s truly unfortunate because when I was young, they cut my hair short and it resembled this—on a decent day.
Yet she thought Jenna was the spitting image of Rose.
In the following video, Hoda exclaimed, “You remind me of her!” She added, “And I resemble my middle school self when I was channeling Stephen Foster.
But when it came to their big reveal, Hoda played the part perfectly.
On a reproduction of the Titanic’s prow, overlooking a stunning sunset, Hoda embraced Jenna while they gently rocked side to side, caught in the ebb and flow of the sea.
In tribute to their personalities, Jenna exclaimed, “I’m soaring!” just as Hoda shouted, “I rule the world!” instead.
The famous Titanic costume, worn by Jenna and Hoda for Halloween, marks the final time they’ll dress up together in this manner, as Hoda is leaving the show. This fitting finale concludes a series of spectacular costumes that Jenna, Hoda, and their colleagues on Today have donned over time.
