Don’t Miss Colleen Hoover’s Cameo in It Ends With Us

As a dedicated fan and follower of Colleen Hoover’s mesmerizing literary journey, I can confidently say that her life experiences have truly come to life through her novels – especially “It Ends With Us.” It was nothing short of surreal when she shared her screen presence in the film adaptation, even if it was just a brief cameo. The behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of cinematography left me with an immense appreciation for the craft and the actors who dedicate their lives to it.

When it comes to It Ends With Us, Colleen Hoover is where it all began.

It’s quite appropriate that the writer of the original novel is involved in the movie version, given that it features stars like Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, and Justin Baldoni – who not only acts but also directed this production.

In her exclusive chat with TopMob News, Colleen shared that she appeared briefly in the film. She added, “It was quite challenging. I merely stood around and feigned conversation during a party scene, yet it required an entire day of filming – 12 hours! It was absolutely surreal.”

But don’t expect the best-selling author to be switching careers any time soon.

“She mentioned her fondness for peeking into what happens backstage. Yet, spending 12 hours redoing a single scene left her puzzled about the actors’ resilience. Even after a day of ‘play-acting’, she acknowledged it as one of the toughest professions out there.”

As I ponder my upcoming book-to-film ventures, with my novel “Verity” already gearing up for production, there’s one condition I have for any potential cameo roles:

As she joked, “I think I’ll continue to choose non-speaking roles.”

In this scenario, it was Blake who eagerly seized the spotlight, while the movie adaptation’s decision to cast an older actress as Lily Bloom, according to Colleen, provided the ideal performer for the role.

She shared that Blake has been one of her most admired actresses for a long time. When they informed her about the possibility of Blake playing this role, she tried not to get too hopeful because she was overjoyed at the prospect. So when it turned out to be true and Blake arrived on set to start filming, it felt incredibly unreal.

Additionally, the author disclosed that Blake possessed an unexpected advantage for her role, which was her genuine humor, as showcased by herself and her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, in real life.

Colleen went on to say, “She’s simply extraordinary! The chemistry you notice between her and Ryan in their online interactions, she brilliantly infuses that into her character. Given the serious nature and emotional depth of this book, a touch of comedic relief is crucial. And she handles it exceptionally well.”

Furthermore, Blake found a fitting screen partner in her co-star Brandon, portraying Atlas Corrigan, the character who captures Lily’s heart.

“Ever since I learned Brandon would play Atlas, I couldn’t help but get excited, thinking, ‘Wow, he’ll fit the part perfectly – that subtle yet intense vibe.’ And let me tell you, his portrayal of kindness and protection in the role is nothing short of brilliant!”

Following the movie, I wrote the roles, and now I believe the castings were perfectly aligned with my expectations, making it just as I had envisioned.

So don’t miss It Ends With Us, playing now in theaters.
