One thrilling aspect of playing Pokemon TCG Pocket involves amassing trading cards, and there are several methods to acquire them. Most cards will be obtained by opening booster packs such as the recently introduced Triumphant Light, but DeNa also arranges special events that reward players with unique cards. Frequent events include Drop Events where players engage in battles against AI decks to receive promo packs filled with promotional cards. These events are time-limited, so players can only secure them while the event is active. Currently, a new Drop Event is taking place within Pokemon TCG Pocket, offering fresh cards for collection.
The freshly introduced drop event in the latest version of Pokemon TCG Pocket introduces five brand-new cards for players to acquire. These can be obtained through the promotional packs, which are earned by successfully overcoming the challenge decks in the Drop Event battles. Check out this new promo event in Pokemon TCG Pocket!
In the Triumphant Light booster pack, there’s a fresh version of Gible named the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Drop Event. This event started on March 3rd and will continue until March 17th. Participants can utilize Event Energy to engage in battles with decks focused on Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp ex to secure various prizes. The primary attraction of the event is the new promotional cards, yet players can also snag other rewards such as Hourglasses, Shop Tickets, Shinedust, and Event Hourglasses.
In the latest addition to Series Vol. 5 of Promo Pack A, you’ll find five unique cards: Gible, Cherrim, Raichu, Nosepass, and Staraptor. Each card sports fresh artwork, but the standout is definitely the Gible card. By opening each Promo Pack A Series Vol. 5, players receive one of these cards. These packs are earned by overcoming the decks offered during the event. The more difficult deck presents a greater opportunity for players to win a Promo Pack A Series Vol. 5.
During the event, it’s recommended that fans challenge these decks as much as they can because the cards in the promotional packs are limited and unpredictable. While some players might luck out and obtain every card swiftly, most will receive duplicates before completing their sets. Important to note: once the event concludes, there’ll be no more opportunities to acquire these promo cards, not even through trading.
Enthusiasts can anticipate some exciting developments in the coming days for Pokemon TCG Pocket. Towards the end of March, Ranked Matches will be introduced, offering a more competitive play experience. At the tail-end of February, the Triumphant Light booster pack was rolled out, introducing many new cards centered around Arceus and the novel Link feature.
Just last week, The Pokemon Company commemorated Pokemon Day 2025, offering a sneak peek into the future of all things Pokemon. Though the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is only one piece of the puzzle, enthusiasts can anticipate two fresh games – Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Champions. For those who play the real-life version of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, the upcoming booster set will introduce a new Mega Evolution feature.
