The “Mass Outbreak” event has started in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket! Until May 3rd at 10:59 p.m. PT, players can find an emphasis on Fighting-type Pokemon with Rare and Bonus Picks. The Rare Picks offer a chance to get cards such as Lucario ex, Machamp, and Machop from the “Shining Revelry” themed boosters, but players might also encounter cards from other sets, like Stonjourner from “Mythical Island” and Hitmontop from “Space-Time Smackdown”. This event presents a beneficial chance for those who have been struggling to obtain these cards or for those creating a Fighting-type deck.
During the Mass Outbreak event, the Pokemon TCG Pocket version will offer special missions for a limited time. Completing these missions will grant players Shop Tickets and Wonder Hourglasses as rewards. For instance, if you gather 15 Fighting-type cards before the event concludes, you’ll receive 7 Shop Tickets and 4 Wonder Hourglasses. This makes participating enticing, more so with a fresh set coming to the game towards the end of this week.
In essence, Lucario ex makes for a robust foundation when constructing a deck focused on the Fighting type. For three Energy cards of the same kind, Lucario’s Aura Sphere can dish out 100 damage to your opponent’s Pokemon, and an additional 30 damage to another one on their bench without any discard costs. This means that once Lucario is fully powered, it will continue to cause harm to your opponent’s bench until it is defeated. With a health points (HP) value of 150, Lucario ex proves to be a resilient choice among Fighting-type Pokemon, and the probability of getting one during the Mass Outbreak event is an added bonus.
During this event, while Lucario ex could be the main attraction, don’t underestimate Machamp; it’s no pushover either! Its card has a move called Power Press that dishes out 70 damage with just two Fighting-type Energy cards. If you add two more Energy cards, the damage increases to a whopping 120! Similar to Lucario, this card boasts an HP (Hit Points) of 150, making Machamp a force to reckon with once it’s fully powered up. However, it should be noted that Machamp is a Stage 2 Pokemon, which means it takes slightly longer to evolve and get into play compared to Lucario ex.
The upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket set, titled “Celestial Guardians,” is due on April 30th. This installment highlights content from the Alola region introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon games, bringing forth previously unseen Pokémons along with trainers who made their debut in that generation. A novelty for the game, Celestial Guardians will incorporate at least one Immersive Support card. The teased card showcases Lillie, a prominent character from Pokémon Sun and Moon. Interestingly, Lillie has recently played a significant role in the physical Pokémon TCG’s “Journey Together” expansion, making it an exciting time for her fans!
