Developers assert that Doom: The Dark Ages is the largest game in the series to date, particularly in terms of mission scope, which seems undeniable.
During the period known as The Dark Ages, there are more adventures for the player than in either Doom (2016) or Doom Eternal. These escapades will lead the Doom Slayer through a technologically advanced medieval realm, where the primary objective is to eliminate demons.
As an avid enthusiast, I’ve meticulously compiled a comprehensive guide on the number of Doom: The Dark Ages missions, aiming to provide clarity on your progress and the total count.
How many missions does Doom: The Dark Ages have?
There are a total of 22 missions to complete in Doom: The Dark Ages.
Compared to Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal, each offering just 13 missions, this represents a significant expansion in terms of the number of missions available.
Based on developer id Software’s claims, each mission is expected to last approximately an hour. However, from our assessment, this seems like a considerable overestimation.
Many missions share a resemblance to stages in Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal, albeit with slightly less strict adherence to a straight path.
As you journey through the map, defeating demons along the way, you’ll also get opportunities to explore secretive side-paths where you can discover hidden items like secrets, Codex pages, and upgrades.
Among the main exceptions to this rule are Siege Part 1 and Part 2, each set in a larger, more flexible map where goals can be accomplished in whatever sequence you prefer.

Conversely, certain stages can be rapidly completed within 20 minutes or so if you’re speedy.
To put it simply, following the advice provided in our guide, it’s beneficial to thoroughly investigate the game map since the materials you discover will help enhance your weapons and shields for greater strength.
