Earlier, Dr Disrespect had announced on August 14 that he was planning to come back. This was after a tweet suggesting the same a few weeks earlier. Since then, the streamer has made only one other public statement. On September 3, he posted on social media platform X, “are people still streaming video games?” and “what a snoozefest.” These comments might indicate that Dr Disrespect may not be streaming video games when he returns, but instead might do something else

Everything revolves around claims that surfaced against the streamer in June, suggesting he had inappropriately messaged a minor back in 2017. This incident led to his sudden and enigmatic ban from Twitch. When these allegations were made public, the streamer acknowledged his guilt and announced his decision to take a break from streaming and public life. As a result, his channel was deprived of monetization on YouTube. Furthermore, he was also expelled from Midnight Society, a game studio that he co-founded

The state of affairs remained unchanged till August 14th. Furthermore, following his announcement of return, Dr Disrespect deleted his initial statement regarding the incident, erasing any trace of his confession

In a statement, which was later deleted, it was explained that for reasons beyond my control, I hadn’t been able to discuss why I was banned from Twitch for several years. However, two ex-employees of Twitch have recently disclosed the allegations against me. Now, I can share my perspective on the ban. In 2017, there were Twitch Whisper messages with a minor individual. But let me clarify, these messages were not malicious in nature. They were casual, mutual exchanges that occasionally veered into inappropriate territory, but they did not involve any illegal activities or the sharing of explicit content. No crimes were committed, and I never met this person in real life

“I found myself embroiled in a drawn-out arbitration concerning a civil disagreement with Twitch, which was ultimately settled through a mutually agreed-upon resolution. To set the record straight, this wasn’t a criminal case against me, and no criminal charges were ever filed. From a moral perspective, I acknowledge my role in the situation. I ought to have never engaged in those discussions, and that’s on me, as an individual, a husband, and a father. It was a mistake that should not have occurred.”
