Jiggly Caliente’s loved ones are sharing a health update.
During the fourth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” the competitor known as Bianca Castro, in real life, underwent an amputation of her leg following a severe health complication, as her family revealed through their social media accounts.
On Instagram, April 24th, her family stated that due to a severe infection, she was admitted to the hospital and subsequently had to amputate most of her right leg. Her recuperation is expected to be lengthy.
It was mentioned that Jiggly, who joined as a permanent judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines in 2022, won’t be part of the next season. Additionally, there are no plans for her to participate in any public events for the time being.
Currently, we politely request seclusion for Bianca and her loved ones as they face a challenging path. This statement further expresses that Bianca’s family and their drag house appreciate the ongoing expressions of sympathy, courage, and prayers they have received.
Additionally, the message within the note suggested, “As Jiggly focuses on recovery, let’s encourage her by sharing messages of encouragement and affection on her social media platforms with her friends, followers, and supporters.
Previous contestants of “Drag Race” expressed heartfelt encouragement, and season eight victor, Bob the Drag Queen, penned, “My dear Jiggly, I adore you immensely. You consistently keep it genuine. A genuine diva. Take care and heal up, sister.
Meanwhile, Ginger Minj emphasized, “I love you more than words can say.”
You’re constantly in my thoughts,” the season seven runner-up expressed, “Sending you an abundance of positive vibes!
In 2012, Jiggly – who finished eighth on RuPaul’s Drag Race – was invited to judge the Filipino edition of the show following her appearance on the spin-off series All Stars in 2021, donning a captivating butterfly ensemble.
She expressed to Gay Times in 2022 that the experience turned out to be quite significant. She felt underrepresented as she wasn’t able to display much of her Filipino heritage during the season since she only appeared for two episodes. Consequently, when it came to promotional activities, she wanted to incorporate a touch of the Philippines by dressing in a way that reflected her roots more accurately.
She went on to say, “The stunning butterfly-sleeved dress really created a stir in the Philippines, and I received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm from Filipino fans. It seems this was what sparked everything, and then I got a call saying, ‘Would you be interested?’ Of course! I was thrilled and replied, ‘Absolutely, sign me up! Why not?’ I couldn’t pass up the opportunity!” Then, it all became a reality.

Now, I can’t do a single squat on one leg. If I try, I’d topple over. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Although the internet can sometimes be unkind, Amy Schumer is grateful that in this instance it provided her with valuable insights. In an episode of Call Her Daddy from January 2025, Amy reminisced about facing criticism following a series of interviews, saying, “Everybody, calm down,” but then she received comments from medical professionals suggesting that something might be amiss due to her unusual appearance. Amy humorously added, “I’m getting trolled by doctors?”
After these medical professionals suspected she had Cushing syndrome, possibly caused by elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections, Amy realized, “Wait a minute, I’ve been receiving steroid injections for my scars.”
Amy had undergone various procedures, such as breast reduction and C-section, and was receiving these steroid injections. Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident in March 2022 while having breakfast with husband Justin Bieber. She started exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke, such as speech impairment and facial drooping. Sharing her experience on YouTube later, she recalled that she couldn’t respond or speak properly, and her right side of the face drooped.
Upon visiting the hospital, doctors discovered a small blood clot in Hailey’s brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination at UCLA revealed that she had a heart condition called patent foramen ovale (PFO), through which a blood clot had traveled from her heart to her brain.
Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and reported feeling well since then.
2022 marked a challenging time for us both. In June, I, Justin Bieber, was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome – an unexpected health issue that temporarily affected my facial muscles, leading me to postpone the rest of my Justice World Tour. As you can see, one side of my face was paralyzed, making it difficult for me to smile or blink normally, and even affecting my ability to eat properly. However, with time, the condition improved.
Luckily, I’m on the mend now, as confirmed by my wife Hailey during her appearance on Good Morning America. She shared that I was feeling much better after this unexpected health scare, though she admitted it was indeed a scary and unpredictable situation. But I am grateful to say that I am doing well now, and I’m relieved to know that I will make a full recovery.
Initially, Jamie Foxx chose not to disclose the details of his hospitalization in April 2023. However, in his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he shared his harrowing experience. One day in Atlanta, he described experiencing a severe headache and asking for an aspirin, but before he could receive it, he fainted and lost consciousness for 20 days.
Initially treated by a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, Foxx’s sister Deidra Dixon grew concerned and took him to a hospital where they discovered he had suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke. After undergoing surgery on the 20th day, Foxx woke up on May 4 in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I truly needed each one of them.
Actress Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in 2019. In the piece, she described a harrowing experience at the gym where she was suddenly struck with severe vomiting and escalating pain. “I realized my brain was damaged,” she wrote.
Rushed to the hospital for a scan, the diagnosis was grave: a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a potentially fatal type of stroke caused by bleeding in the space surrounding the brain. She had suffered an aneurysm, a ruptured artery. The pain from the surgery to seal the aneurysm was described as unbearable.
During her recovery, she experienced aphasia and found herself “uttering nonsense.” However, a week later, the aphasia passed, and she left the hospital after a month-long stay. In 2013, a growth detected during a scan had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery.
“When they woke me,” she wrote, “I was screaming in pain. The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it clear that my chances of surviving were precarious if they didn’t operate again. This time they needed to access my brain through my skull.”
Fortunately, Emilia is now reportedly “at a hundred percent” in her health.

However, Cori is now recovering well, with only minor motor skills needing rehabilitation. She stated that she is doing great overall.
During the challenging period of her twenties, Shailene Woodley faced numerous health issues. She experienced symptoms such as losing hearing, fatigue after short walks, and stomach pain from food. Her condition was complex, with various doctors offering different diagnoses.

This journey took a decade but also led to other struggles, like fear of food due to stomach discomfort, body image issues, confusion about identity, and feeling unsafe in her own body.
After addressing both physical and mental health concerns, Shailene is now healthier and happier. She shared that her condition eventually improved, leaving her in good health today.
