Dragon Age games in story order

Dragon Age: Origins

Origins, a game that’s 15 years old, has a somewhat cumbersome feel to it, as indicated by its title. This is where the Dragon Age storyline initially unfolds. Here, we assume the role of The Warden, a fresh recruit in the Grey Wardens, an order of warriors. Our mission is to collaborate with them and prevent the Fifth Blight, while also defeating a god who has been corrupted by beings known as Darkspawn.

Modern consoles like Xbox and PC can still accommodate play for the game Origins, as it’s available for purchase through their respective digital marketplaces.

Dragon Age 2

Following the thrilling tale of Origins, I’m eagerly anticipating my journey into Dragon Age 2. This time, I find myself in the troubled land of Ferelden, a world overrun by darkspawn. In an attempt to secure safety, I will step into the shoes of Hawke, a character on the move towards Thedas.

Over the span of ten years, we trace their journey as they ascend to power amidst a time of significant political change and turmoil.

Dragon Age 2 is still available on digital storefronts for Xbox and PC.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Approximately a year has passed since the occurrences in Dragon Age 2, and now, we find ourselves assuming the role of the Inquisitor. A devastating civil war breaks out in Thedas’ southern region, and events take an even darker turn when a rift in the veil allows demons to invade our world. With magical powers that suggest divine intervention, we are entrusted with the mission of restoring order and peace. Many begin to believe we may be the “chosen one.

Inquisition can still be purchased digitally on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

It’s been about ten years in both reality and the fictional universe since the events of Inquisition transpired. A ritual malfunctions, freeing two Elven deities into Thedas with ambitions to conquer the world. Once again, we take on the role of a new character named Rook, tasked with assembling a team to challenge these gods.

The Veilguard will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC from October 31st 2024.
