After the finale of “Dragon Ball Daima,” shonen enthusiasts have pondered what lies ahead for the Z-Fighter saga. A new chapter in the Dragon Ball Super series was unveiled earlier this year, but the manga has yet to reveal when fresh installments will be published, let alone an anticipated comeback date for the anime. In a recent conversation, “Daima” animator Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru looked back on the emergence of this unexpected sequel series. Additionally, during the interview, Nakatsuru also pondered the concept of restarting from scratch with a Dragon Ball Remake.
During a recent interview, Katsuyoshi expressed his thoughts on potentially being involved in a remake if the opportunity presented itself: “If I could add something valuable and be beneficial in some way, I’d be thrilled to do so. However, starting from scratch based on the Dragon Ball manga might appeal more to younger generations who may wish to completely reimagine it. This could potentially open up new avenues. Perhaps they would prefer a complete reimagining. If so, that could lead to fresh possibilities. Regardless, the original work remains, and there are numerous paths for creating a new series from there. I believe that a remake will eventually happen, and whether I’m a part of it or not doesn’t seem crucial to me.
Nakatsuru Rocks The Dragon
The Dragon Ball animator went on to say, “Perhaps the most important thing is for everyone to be able to appreciate the series for as long as possible. It’s also possible that some might find inspiration in Toriyama-sensei’s work and create something even more extraordinary than what he imagined, and we could still enjoy it.
Excitedly, I’ve been pondering over the intriguing hints dropped by the masterminds behind the Dragon Ball shonen series. They’ve sparked a flame of hope that the epic tale may carry on for decades beyond the sad departure of Toriyama. It seems plausible that, in the event of such a scenario, artist Toyotaro could step up and steer the series, delving into unresolved major plotlines like Frieza’s groundbreaking new transformation – the Ultimate form!
Dragon Ball Daima’s Future
Previously, in 2021, the twentieth installment of “Dragon Ball Daima” emerged, featuring the Z-Fighters reverting to their adult forms and departing from the Demon Realm where they had resided for most of the series. Given that this show is heavily inspired by its creator Akira Toriyama, it appears rather improbable that a second season will be produced, taking into account that the anime introducing the canonical Super Saiyan 4 happened prior to the events depicted in “Super”.
Despite the numerous fresh characters and transformations debuted in Dragon Ball Daimao, it’s quite possible that some of these will resurface in the future episodes of Dragon Ball Super. The thought that we won’t revisit Super Saiyan 4, given Goku’s ability to access this form freely, seems hard to believe. Here’s hoping we witness this form again before long!
