Dragon Ball Daima Announces Special U.S. Theatrical Premiere

As a lifelong Dragon Ball fan with countless hours spent mastering the art of the Kamehameha and perfecting my Saiyan roar, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming premiere of Dragon Ball Daima. The thought of Goku, Vegeta, and the gang shrunken down to miniature versions of themselves is just too hilarious not to be intrigued.

Next month marks the airing of “Dragon Ball: Mini-Adventures,” which is highly anticipated to be one of the most significant anime premieres during the 2024 fall anime season. In this new series, our hero Son Goku and his band of Z-Fighters are shrunken thanks to a plot involving the Dragon Balls. Fans of shonen have been eagerly awaiting news about the English Dub version’s release date. Fortunately, “Mini-Adventures” has provided an answer by announcing that the English Dub premiere for the next chapter in the lives of the Z-Fighters will debut in theaters this fall.

To recap for those needing a reminder, the upcoming anime series titled “Dragon Ball Daima” unfolds after the demise of Kid Buu in “Dragon Ball Z“, preceding the beginning of “Dragon Ball Super“. In this sequel, Goku embarks on a cosmic journey alongside the Supreme Kai, aiming to reverse the metamorphoses that have affected our beloved heroes. Though sharing some resemblance with “Dragon Ball GT“, the forthcoming anime will also introduce the Demon Realm, a location frequently appearing in the spin-off “Dragon Ball Heroes“. Joining Son Goku on his adventure to uncover the conspiracy are new characters such as Glorio and Panzy, ensuring he’s not embarking on this quest alone.

Dragon Ball Daima’s Theatrical Debut

Similar to the latest anime “Dandadan: The First Encounter”, the popular series “Dragon Ball Daima” is set to premiere its initial three episodes in cinemas. In partnership with Fathom Events, Toei Animation will broadcast these screenings on November 11th, 12th, and 13th. Speaking about this upcoming event, Toei Animation’s President and CEO, Masayuki Endo, expressed his thoughts as follows:

We’re excited to announce that starting this November, U.S. theaters will host the world premiere of Dragon Ball DAIMA, in an English dub! This unique cinematic event allows American fans to be among the first to witness a fresh take on this classic story by Akira Toriyama, and to kickstart this new chapter on the big screen. True Dragon Ball enthusiasts won’t want to miss it!

Where is Dragon Ball Super?

For enthusiasts of shonen genre, it’s common knowledge that the Dragon Ball Super anime wrapped up after the Tournament of Power came to a close in 2018. However, there hasn’t been any confirmation yet about whether the series will make a comeback on television screens in the future. While films like Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero have brought back Super, the upcoming anime titled Daima marks the first time the Z-Fighters will be featured in a canonical series since their battle against Jiren.

Regarding Dragon Ball Super, its publication halted after the sad demise of its creator, Akira Toriyama. Since then, readers have been waiting eagerly for news on when the next chapter will appear, but no specific date has been set yet. Fortunately, Toyotaro, the artist, has assured us that the series will resume at some point in the future, although he hasn’t shared any details about the return or the new storyline for the Z-Fighters. On the gaming front, Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is a fantastic option for fans who want to revisit the world of their favorite anime characters and villains. All in all, it’s an exciting time for Dragon Ball enthusiasts.
