In an exciting turn of events this Fall, Dragon Ball is set to unveil a fresh take on the iconic character, Goku, through its latest anime installation, titled Dragon Ball Daima. This new series marks a significant milestone in the franchise’s 40-year journey, first introduced by the late Akira Toriyama in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in 1984. Alongside an innovative storyline and captivating new settings, fans can look forward to encountering a never-before-seen version of their beloved protagonist.
In the latest trailer for “Dragon Ball,” there’s been a revelation about “Dragon Ball Daimaoh.” Contrary to earlier assumptions, the Goku depicted isn’t a kid version of Goku, but simply referred to as Goku himself. The same applies to all other characters, with “Mini” now being used to describe their chibi-like forms.
When Is Dragon Ball Daima Coming Out?
Fall 2024 sees the anticipated debut of “Dragon Ball Daima” from Shueisha, with an estimated launch in October. However, a specific release date and details about international distribution remain undisclosed at present. Legendary manga artist Akira Toriyama played a pivotal role in shaping the primary plot and character concepts for this new project. Under Toei Animation’s guidance, Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki are directing the series, while Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru translates Toriyama’s designs into captivating animations. Yuuko Kakihara oversees the scriptwriting process.
Masako Nozawa is set to rejoin the anime production with her voice acting skills for the character Goku Mini. She is currently the only announced voice actor for “Dragon Ball Daima” at this point, although an English dub release is yet to be confirmed. The appearance of this new “Mini” form in “Dragon Ball Daima” remains a mystery, leaving fans wondering if it signifies a weaker version of Goku or an exciting new development for the franchise. Previously, creator Akira Toriyama hinted at an original storyline for “Dragon Ball Daima,” but its implications are yet to be fully understood.
