There are just a few episodes remaining in ‘Dragon Ball Daima‘ before the mini Z-Fighters wrap up their adventure in the Demon Realm. This development has sparked discussions among fans about whether ‘Daima’ is merely the initial phase or if its finale might unveil some unexpected news about the return of ‘Dragon Ball Super’. In a recent interview with producer Akio Iyoku, additional information was shared about episode 20 of the current anime series, which could mark the end of the Z-Fighters’ journey back to normal life.
In a recent interview, Iyoku revealed some fascinating insights about the origins of Daima and its link to Dragon Ball GT. As for the upcoming finale, here’s what Akio had to say: The action scenes will exceed everyone’s expectations, and the climactic battle is nothing short of spectacular! There are parts of the story that you can envision, and others that may surprise or confound you, but it could very well turn out to be mind-blowing. If you rewatch it from the start, I’m certain you’ll appreciate it even more.
Daima’s Grand Tour
Speaking about the inspiration behind Daima, the current anime producer expressed his desire to explain, “I kept in mind the generation of adults in their 30s who have children. I wanted to produce an anime that parents and kids could enjoy together. This group grew up watching ‘Dragon Ball GT’. I took this into consideration, and my goal to create a new series similar to ‘GT’ served as the foundation for my work.
Akio expanded on this concept, explaining that it was actually Akira Toriyama’s intention to turn all Z-Fighters into children, not just Son Goku. This decision, he noted, aimed to attract a broader audience. Although he didn’t initially anticipate everyone becoming small, he acknowledged it was the teacher’s idea. The ‘GT’ title represents ‘Grand Touring’, symbolizing an adventure in the ‘DAIMA’. Unlike ‘Super’, where Goku progressively increases his strength, the depiction of a smaller Goku fighting using his Nyoibou stick offers a unique appeal and adds a fresh perspective to the series.
Dragon Ball Super’s Return
Although the Dragon Ball Super anime is currently on hold after wrapping up its TV run, and with movies such as Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero being released, the manga is set to resume this month. Instead of initiating a new series of chapters, a one-shot special will have Goten and Trunks back in control as they carry on their masked superhero battles. With the producer hinting at many more decades for the shonen series, it’ll be exciting to discover where Goku, Vegeta, and their allies journey to next.
