Dragon Ball Daima Reveals a New Spin on a Familiar Divine Dragon

The latest installments of “Dragon Ball Daima” have left fans of this iconic shonen series spellbound with unexpected revelations. Introductions such as Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta, Super Saiyan 4 Goku, and the true history of the Namekian race are just a few examples. With only two episodes remaining in the series, there’s still time for more jaw-dropping twists. A significant transformation awaits Goku in the Grand Tour, which could potentially be one of the biggest ever in the franchise. The climax of the latest episode paid tribute to the lesser-known characters of the series. A new Eternal Dragon has been summoned in the Demon Realm, a reference that echoes both “Dragon Ball GT” and “Dragon Ball Z.

To bring you up to speed, Glorio and Dr. Anisu possess the power to summon the Eternal Dragon from the Demon Realm, which bears a striking resemblance to the Dragon of Planet Namek. Unlike Shenron who appeared during the Frieza Saga, Porunga had a unique look and the ability to grant three wishes instead of just one. Interestingly, Daima has reimagined Porunga’s appearance with a significant twist. This underworld dragon now sports a red aesthetic, which is interestingly reminiscent of the Grand Tour.

A Red Dragon of The Grand Tour Variety

In Dragon Ball GT, the Dragon Shenron initially appeared in red due to the Black Star Dragon Balls. A wish made by Pilaf and his gang turned Goku into a child using Shenron’s powers. The wish made on the Demon Realm Dragon, however, remains unsolved. Despite Glorio being with the Z-Fighters from the beginning, it’s been revealed that he has been working for Dr. Anisu. With the upcoming episode titled “Betrayal,” it seems like Glorio might have betrayed Goku and his team on the Demon Realm. As we move forward, we’ll find out if the new red dragon can restore things to normal in this chaotic situation.

The Dragon from the Demon Realm was crafted by Neva, a Namekian whose abilities surpass anything fans of the shonen series have witnessed thus far. Known for bestowing Goku with his Super Saiyan 4 form, it remains to be seen where Neva will be when the series concludes this month. Given that Dragon Ball Super is set to return in February, there’s a chance we might see Neva in future episodes of the sequel series.

The Dragon Ball GT Crossover Many Didn’t See Coming

Akio Iyoku, the creator of Dragon Ball, has revealed that Daima was designed as a heartfelt homage to the Grand Tour. To cater to fans who grew up and have families, he aimed to produce an anime suitable for both parents and children to watch together. These are individuals who initially enjoyed Dragon Ball GT when they were younger. This intention of recreating a series similar to GT sparked the beginning of Daima’s creation.
