As a lifelong fan of Dragon Ball Z and Super, I must say that the latest development in Dragon Ball Daima has me absolutely buzzing! The introduction of Join Bugs is not only a fresh take on fusion but also a testament to the creativity of the team behind this series.

In the world of Dragon Ball, unions are as fitting as peanut butter and jelly. Throughout the series, we’ve witnessed characters such as Gogeta, Vegito, Fused Zamasu, and Gotenks come to life through the Fusion Dance or by wearing the Potarra Earrings. As Goku, the Supreme Kai, and the latest character Glorio traverse the Demon Realm on a mission to save Dende and revert the Z-Fighters back to their adult forms, they’ve stumbled upon an astounding revelation during their travels. Not only have they discovered a fresh approach for two fighters to merge that doesn’t rely on any prior methods, but it’s one of the most revolting ways for entities to fuse since Majin Buu and Cell absorbed enemies.

heads up! If you haven’t seen Dragon Ball Daima Episode 4 yet, be aware that the discussion ahead contains major spoilers. In the latest episode of this fall season’s blockbuster anime, Goku and his group are traversing the Demon Realm. Unfortunately, their airship was stolen during the night, leaving them without a means of transportation. Son proposes they fly instead, but the thick air in the Demon Realm makes flying challenging for Goku, affecting his fighting abilities. While seeking an alternative mode of transport, Goku stumbles upon an unexpected method of fusion that even viewers didn’t anticipate.

What Are Join Bugs?

As Goku awaits Glorio’s acquisition of the Sky Seed, a vehicle exclusive to the Demon Realm, he encounters peculiar creatures known as “Medi-Bugs”. These insectoid beings serve as the Demon Realm’s equivalent of Senzu Beans. However, there are an abundance of these bugs, each with distinct characteristics. Among them are the “Join Bugs.

In the Netherworld Realm, Join Bugs are consumed as food that induce fusion between two entities. To accomplish this fusion, both parties must ingest a Join Bug. The resulting fusion is not permanent but grants power on par with Gogeta and Vegito – characters from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super who fused. This leads us to wonder if we’ll witness another Saiyan fusion joining the existing examples in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super.

Who Will Fuse In Daima?

It’s common knowledge that they won’t bring in Join Bugs without employing them in this Dragon Ball spin-off. Fortunately, there are multiple paths for fusion in Daima’s upcoming storyline. Previews have hinted at Vegeta and Piccolo venturing into the Demon Realm due to Bulma’s advanced technology, and given the significant indication we may soon see the Z-Fighters resorting to fusion.

According to Glorio’s explanation, there are three Dragon Balls in the Demon Realm, but no one has ever managed to collect them because of beings called “Tamagami.” These powerful creatures were born by the Namekian Neva for the purpose of safeguarding the wish-granting orbs. Despite Goku’s ability to transform into Super Saiyan with his new form, it’s been challenging for Son to adapt to his miniature size and navigate through the thick air of the Demon Realm.
