In the Dragon Ball Daima series, it’s the revelations about the Namekian race that have caused the biggest shockwaves. Previously believed to be aliens, they were actually discovered to originate from the Demon Realm, just like the Glint demons who include the Supreme Kai and his kin. Due to this unexpected twist, the backstory of Piccolo and his kind has been revised yet again in one of the final stories penned by the late Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, altering our understanding of their origins.

The Original Piccolo Was in The Demon Realm

In the recent installment of Dragon Ball Daima, it was disclosed that the initial version of Piccolo, who combined the characteristics of Kami and the Demon Lord Piccolo, hailed from the Second Demon World as a Namekian. This mysterious Namekian eventually migrated to Earth, where he sought to grow into the finest Kami possible by separating his good and evil aspects into two distinct entities. As a result, we have both the Earth’s god and the malevolent demon lord Piccolo who engaged in battles with Goku as the main antagonist in the original Dragon Ball series.

As Goku and his fellow Z-Fighters explored the ruins of the old Namekian home within the Demon Realm, they found themselves not solitary. Hidden in the shadows was Neva, a Namekian native to this realm, who seemed to be harboring ill intentions. With abilities that none of the Namekians seen thus far in the shonen series possess, it appears that Neva may turn out to be a formidable adversary prior to Daima’s conclusion.

Piccolo’s Future

Given that the storyline of “Daima” happens before the events of “Dragon Ball Super”, it’s unlikely that Piccolo will utilize his “Orange Piccolo” power, as he acquired it in the latest movie.
