As a long-time Dragon Ball fan, I’ve been following this franchise since its early days in Shonen Jump, and I must say, the anticipation for the new anime series, Dragon Ball Daima, is palpable. The latest trailer has definitely piqued my interest, but it also left me scratching my head due to some notable absences.
The upcoming anime titled “Dragon Ball Daima” has given fans a sneak peek of what they can anticipate in the series, and the latest clip leaves some doubt regarding its chronology with certain characters mysteriously missing. “Dragon Ball Daima” marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as it commemorates the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s iconic Dragon Ball manga, first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This fresh series provides a unique opportunity for Toriyama to create the narrative and characters before his passing, leaving fans curious about its direction
In a recent update, Dragon Ball Daima unveiled a new trailer showcasing Goku’s Mini form and several fresh characters. However, this sneak peek has raised some queries because prominent figures like Gohan are absent from the action, neither in their adult nor Mini form as seen with other characters. Additionally, notable additions such as Beerus, Whis, or Broly were conspicuously missing. This might indicate that Dragon Ball Daima’s narrative could be establishing its position within the broader canon, potentially even before the incidents of Dragon Ball Super
Is Dragon Ball Daima Canon?
The given question can be paraphrased in easy-in is a question of whether or not is canon to the next, Whis, and Broly are referring to the new anime or manga. This is referred to as the overall “dragon ball”, “super”, “Super” refers to”Dragon Ball Super, super, Super, for short circuit, Super, characters.”
This would clarify those absences, but it remains puzzling why Gohan is still unaccounted for in the storyline. It seems unlikely that his role will be significant in Goku’s upcoming adventure in Dragon Ball Daima, but it’s intriguing that he hasn’t been featured yet in promotional materials. The same goes for Videl, and if this story occurs before Battle of Gods, then they should have been around during the events that are unfolding
Fortunately, we’ll have additional insights not long from now as Dragon Ball Daima is set to air on October 11th in Japan
