The wrap-up for the “Dragon Ball Daima” anime is approaching this month, and there’s speculation that it may reintroduce Super Saiyan 4 as a special feature. “Dragon Ball Daima” is a fresh anime series created to honor the 40th anniversary of the initial publication of the “Dragon Ball” manga, taking fans on an epic journey with Goku and his companions through the Demon Realm. The narrative has evoked memories of “Dragon Ball GT” since its inception due to Goku reverting to a child-like form, and this connection has been further strengthened as subsequent episodes have echoed that series more closely. Interestingly, it was all part of the plan.
In a recent chat with Mantan Web, executive producer Akio Iyoku shared insights on the upcoming finale of Dragon Ball Daima. He mentioned that the series was designed to resemble Dragon Ball GT and act as a link between fans of the former show and their children from a new generation. As we approach the final episode, there’s growing speculation that we might also witness a revamped version of the iconic form from Dragon Ball GT – Super Saiyan 4.
Dragon Ball GT Remake Makes SSJ4 Even More Possible
When creating the concept for Dragon Ball Daima, Iyoaku acknowledged the generation of adults and parents who grew up watching anime like Dragon Ball GT with their children. His goal was to create an anime that could be enjoyed by both parents and kids together. He started this project by aiming to recreate a series similar to GT, in order to broaden the appeal of the new series.
Fans of Dragon Ball immediately began noticing similarities to Dragon Ball GT when the anime was initially revealed, and these connections have only grown stronger with each subsequent episode. The latest interpretations of Dragon Ball GT are generating quite a buzz, as they seem to hint at one final piece being added with the introduction of a new version of Super Saiyan 4. One of the main draws of Akira Toriyama’s work in Dragon Ball Super was the incorporation of previously non-canonical characters into the official storyline, and now this concept is set to be taken a step further with the debut of a new Super Saiyan 4 variant.
Dragon Ball Daima Teases a Big Finale
Intriguingly, Iyoku hinted at an engaging finale for the series “Dragon Ball Daima” by suggesting thrilling action sequences and unforeseen turns. He implied that viewers might assume they understand the storyline, but they will be surprised. Rewatching the entire series from the beginning could potentially reveal fresh insights! This final episode tease seems to hint at a potential revamp of Super Saiyan 4, a form that was particularly powerful in “Dragon Ball GT“. It appears that “Dragon Ball Daima” could be treading the same path as its predecessor.
We’ll find out soon enough when “Dragon Ball Daima” wraps up on Episode 20, scheduled for February 28th in Japan. The specifics of how the series will conclude are still under wraps, but it promises a showdown between Goku and his crew against the Supreme Demon King Gomah in their final battle. There are some striking similarities to “Dragon Ball Z” so far, and it’s possible that elements from “GT” may also be incorporated before the series ends.
