As a die-hard Dragon Ball fan with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I have to say that the recent developments in the franchise are truly exciting! The upcoming releases of both Dragon Ball Daima and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero promise to bring something fresh and enticing for us fans.
In autumn, to celebrate Akira Toriyama’s original manga debut’s 40th anniversary, “Dragon Ball” will make a grand return in two significant ways. Firstly, a new anime series titled “Dragon Ball Daima” is set to premiere, and secondly, the popular “Sparking!” series will see a new video game release. Moreover, a different voice actor will be introduced for Kid Goku’s version in “Dragon Ball GT’“, although it remains unclear how this change will impact the storyline in “Dragon Ball Daima? Dragon Ball“.
In anticipation for their simultaneous launches in the U.S., both “Dragon Ball Daima” and “Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero” have been giving fans sneak peeks into their upcoming content. Over the past few weeks, a fresh trailer for “Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero” has revealed that characters from “Dragon Ball GT” will be playable in the game. However, it also disclosed that the character of Kid Goku, originally from “Dragon Ball GT,” will have a new voice actor lending their talents to the role.
Who Is Goku GT’s New Voice Actor?
In the upcoming English version of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, a fresh voice actor is introduced for the character Goku GT. This new actor will deliver numerous voice lines for the iconic character. Although the identity of this voice actor isn’t officially disclosed yet, it’s speculated that it could be the same person who voices Kid Gohan in the main Dragon Ball series – Colleen Clinkenbeard. This assumption is based on the similarities between their voices. Previously, the franchise handled both Kid Goku and Kid Gohan’s voices using the same actress, Stephanie Nadony, before her departure.
Originally, Naldony was the voice actor for Goku in the “Dragon Ball” anime, and voiced Kid Gohan before the release of “Dragon Ball Z Kai” during his time with Funimation and ADV Films. However, Clinkenbeard now voices Kid Gohan in “Dragon Ball Z Kai” and subsequent video game adaptations, and it appears he will also take on the voice for Kid Goku’s character in the “Dragon Ball GT” version. This leaves fans of the “Dragon Ball” anime wondering what this change means for the upcoming premiere of “Dragon Ball Daima” next month.
Who Voices Goku in Dragon Ball Daima?
Beginning October 11th, the global launch of “Dragon Ball Daima” is set to take place. The Japanese version will include the return of Masako Nozawa’s voice acting. For fans in North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia, episodes will be available on Crunchyroll with English, Spanish, and Portuguese subtitles. However, at the time of this writing, it is undecided whether an English dubbed version of the series will also be released.
It seems quite probable that the upcoming anime will feature an English dub soon, and when it does, the full cast will be unveiled. With Dragon Ball Daima turning Goku into a kid once more and introducing a fresh conspiracy about his transformation into a “Mini” version, there’s speculation over who will voice this new character. If Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is any indication, the actor portraying Goku GT might also be the one to play Goku Mini in the new anime airing in October. However, we may also encounter some unexpected twists along the way.
