Dragon Ball Super Manga Hits Big Milestone

Although the “Dragon Ball Super” anime has been on a break since 2018, the comic book version of the series has kept soaring and breaking new sales records. Notably, the manga wrapped up two additional story arcs following the conclusion of the anime, hinting at a potential comeback, which would undoubtedly boost its already impressive sales even further. At present, the manga is on track to surpass 12 million copies sold, an achievement remarkable given that it has not been significantly bolstered by television broadcasts to bring it into mainstream popularity.

After the creator Akira Toriyama’s passing, there was uncertainty about the future of the “Dragon Ball Super” manga. However, with recent behind-the-scenes shifts indicating potential continuation, it seems likely that the lucrative franchise will persist without him. Many fans yearn for new projects in both manga and anime formats, but a clear direction has yet to emerge. Shueisha and the “Dragon Ball” franchise are currently navigating their journey without Toriyama’s guidance, a challenge that promises to be formidable.

Primarily, I fervently wish that, being a devoted fan of this series for so long, the storyline and characters are treated with sensitivity. Given that the industry tends to resort to low-cost, nostalgic gimmicks to attract fans, it’s crucial to maintain authenticity. It may take some time before Dragon Ball finds its footing again, but I am prepared to be patient and hope for the best.
