Dragon Ball Has Big Plans to Continue After Dragon Ball Daima

As a seasoned gamer and die-hard Dragon Ball fan with over two decades of my life invested in this universe, I am beyond thrilled about the imminent arrival of “Dragon Ball Daima”. The anticipation has been palpable, and the prospect of new stories and lore within our beloved franchise is simply electrifying.

In a matter of just a few days, we’ll finally get to witness the premiere of “Dragon Ball Daima,” the eagerly awaited addition to the Dragon Ball franchise. The creative team behind it hints that they have further plans up their sleeves to keep the series going once the new anime is released. “Dragon Ball Daima” is a fresh anime creation, partly developed to honor the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s pioneering Dragon Ball manga, which first appeared in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This new series will introduce a never-before-seen storyline that deviates from the original manga and anime, while also adding a whole new universe teeming with unique characters to the Dragon Ball lore.

That’s the most exciting aspect about the new series too. Dragon Ball Daima was already an interesting new project simply because it is going to be new Dragon Ball material, but it’s also going to be expanding the lore of the franchise in some significant ways. But following Akira Toriyama’s passing, the future of the Dragon Ball franchise has been in question. With the rights for the series in limbo and under discussion, it seems that those behind the series are planning to keep moving forward as the executive producer for the franchise revealed that they have “many plans” for the future of Dragon Ball on a whole.

What’s Next After Dragon Ball Daima?

At a unique gathering allowing fans a sneak peek at the debut episode of Dragon Ball Daima, executive producer Akio Iyoku expressed positivity about the series’ potential after its launch, stating, “We’re constantly devising new ideas and generating many more; we’ll keep pushing forward. I look forward to working tirelessly alongside [Goku voice actress Masako] Nozawa-san.” Although he didn’t explicitly confirm whether projects such as the Dragon Ball Super manga will carry on, Iyoku is hinting at a promising future for the Dragon Ball anime.

Although these projects may not align with Toriyama’s vision of the official Dragon Ball storyline, there is still much excitement about the fresh content upcoming for Dragon Ball fans. The anticipation remains high for a possible comeback of Dragon Ball Super in its entirety as an anime, and potential new movies or TV episodes could revisit the final story arcs that Toriyama himself guided in the manga. Additionally, there is speculation about what new ideas Toriyama might have been developing beyond Dragon Ball Daima.
