Dragon Ball: How Strong Are the Demon Realm’s Tamagamis?

As a seasoned Dragon Ball enthusiast with over two decades of following this epic saga, I must say that the Tamagamis, these enigmatic protectors of the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls, certainly appear formidable from what we’ve seen so far in Dragon Ball Daima. They seem to be a class above even the Supreme Demon Kings, as hinted by Gomah himself.

The latest installment of Dragon Ball Daima has hinted at the mightiest combatants residing within the Demon Realm, yet fans wonder about the strength of the Tamagamis guarding the Dragon Balls compared to all battles Goku has encountered so far. In this new storyline, Dragon Ball Daima finds Goku and the Supreme Kai venturing into different worlds within the Demon Realm, with a dual mission: rescuing Dende from the grasp of the Supreme Demon King Gomah and confronting the Demon Realm’s own Dragon Balls safeguarded by potent golems that appear to be the realm’s strongest fighters in total.

In a recent episode of the anime, it’s been disclosed that Dragon Ball Daima possesses a unique set of Dragon Balls originating from the Demon Realm. It is suggested that these might have been among the first Dragon Balls ever manufactured. However, according to Glorio in the latest episode, it isn’t that inhabitants of the Demon Realm don’t desire the Dragon Balls; instead, they are aware of their whereabouts. Yet, no one has ever had a wish granted through them due to the fact that all three are guarded by the Tamagamis. These beings are hinted to be more powerful than even the Supreme Demon Kings.

What Are the Tamagamis?

In the initial appearance of Dragon Ball Daima, it was disclosed that the Tamagamis were a trio of powerful warriors guarding the Dragon Balls within the Demon Realm. These warriors, along with the Dragon Balls themselves, were crafted by the Namekian Neva and have been so potent that no one has ever succeeded in having their wish fulfilled using them. Gomah even playfully hints that they are too formidable even for the Supreme Demon King to handle, which is why he journeyed to Earth initially, aiming to employ their Dragon Balls to wish that Goku and his companions were transformed into children.

These warriors remain partially unveiled, leaving us uncertain about their true nature. It seems they might be automatons or golems, programmed to protect their Dragon Balls and equipped with unique weapons. However, despite being formidable within the Demon Realm, it appears that their strength pales in comparison to the overall might of this realm. They are merely powerful in contrast to Goku’s currently weakened state.

Dragon Ball: How Strong Are the Demon Realm’s Tamagamis?

Goku’s Been Severely Weakened By the Demon Realm

So far in the initial episodes of Dragon Ball Daima, Goku appears significantly weakened not just due to his Mini form, but also because of the dense atmosphere of the Third Demon World itself. Adapting to his new body and the heavy air that hinders long-distance flight are proving challenging for him. As he struggles to overcome these obstacles, the Tamagamis appear even more formidable in comparison, suggesting they possess considerable strength.

It’s quite possible that Goku’s normal form could overpower these warriors, although they seem to lack the usual strength that Goku and Vegeta exhibit. This is all due to a smaller scale here, and since demons aren’t familiar with Ki or its power (as suggested by Glorio when he doesn’t understand the term in Episode 4), it makes the Tamagamis appear stronger. However, even though they might be the strongest warriors of the Demon Realm, within the context of the Dragon Ball series, they may not pose a significant threat overall.

The dynamic might shift significantly once we witness these characters in action, but “Dragon Ball Daima” is laying the groundwork for an innovative type of Fusion that could potentially compensate for any power disparity.
