As a lifelong fan who’s grown up with the power of Dragon Balls, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic excitement as we approach the 40th anniversary of this iconic series! The unveiling of the special logo is just the beginning of what promises to be an incredible celebration.
Later this Fall, the iconic manga series “Dragon Ball” is set to mark its 40th anniversary since its initial publication in 1984, by Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. To honor this significant milestone, an official logo has been unveiled. Over the past four decades, “Dragon Ball” has grown into a global phenomenon, with numerous sequels, anime adaptations, movies, video games, and other spin-offs. The late Akira Toriyama’s creation has influenced countless artists, and its influence is expected to endure for many years to come.
To mark the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s manga release later this Fall, Shueisha and Toei have unveiled a special emblem for the anniversary of “Dragon Ball”. This symbol will be part of the festivities planned for “Dragon Ball” this year, which include an art exhibition set to open in Japan later in 2023 and the debut of the upcoming new anime series, “Dragon Ball Daima”. How Dragon Ball Is Celebrating 40 Years
In October this year, as part of the Fall 2024 anime lineup, we’ll be enjoying a fresh take on Dragon Ball titled Dragon Ball Daima, marking the franchise’s 40th anniversary. The original creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, has played a significant role in shaping the series’ main storyline and character designs for this new adventure. Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki are steering the project as directors under Toei Animation. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is responsible for bringing Toriyama’s designs to life through animation, while Yuuko Kakihara oversees the scriptwriting process.
As a devoted Dragon Ball fan, I can’t help but get excited when I hear the news that Masako Nozawa is returning to voice Kid Goku once more! Right now, she’s the only confirmed cast member announced for Dragon Ball Daima, and I can hardly wait to see who else will join us on this journey.
In Japan, there’s going to be a unique event for “Dragon Ball” fans. The creators behind Shonen Jump are preparing a special exhibition where they will each present their individual interpretations of “Dragon Ball”. Over the past few years, these unique cover artworks have been unveiled gradually.
