Dragon Ball Reveals the Supreme Kai’s Real Name (& Its Demon Realm Origins)

As a long-time Dragon Ball fan, I must say that the latest revelations in Dragon Ball Daima have left me utterly captivated! The exploration of the Third Demon World and its connections to the franchise’s characters has been nothing short of fascinating.

In the most recent episode of “Dragon Ball Daima” anime series, we delve deeper into the Third Demon World, and a surprising truth about Supreme Kai’s original Demon name has been unveiled. Since its debut, “Dragon Ball Daima” has significantly altered the established lore within the “Dragon Ball” universe. The current journey of Goku Mini and Mini Supreme Kai through the Demonic Realm, in search of Dende, offers fans a fresh perspective on how profoundly this realm impacts every facet of the franchise. This influence extends to the origins of the Kais themselves, as we now know they are directly connected to this realm.

It seems that any character with pointed ears in Dragon Ball may hail from or be connected to the Demon Realm. This includes Namekians, who once dwelled in the Demon Realm before traveling through space, as well as the Kais and the Supreme Kai, whose race originated on the Second Demon World. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the Supreme Kai’s name is Nahare, a name by which his demonic counterparts will address him.

Supreme Kai Reveals His True Demon Realm Name

Previously, we learned from Dragon Ball Daima that the Supreme Kai hails from a demon race called the Glind, which originates from the Second Demon World. The Glind consider themselves superior to demons living in the Third Demon World and are believed to have moved beyond their original realm, becoming deities of Earth and other planets across the multiverse. Although the details of how they left the Second Demon World remain unknown, it’s evident that the Glind possess deep connections to the demonic realms.

In the latest episode of Dragon Ball Daima, Supreme Kai, who had been known as “Shin” up until now, finds himself dealing with another issue. As he grows closer to Panzy in this episode, they share a significant moment when he removes her tracking collar. This leads Panzy to inquire about his true name from the Demon Realm. It is then that Supreme Kai reveals his real name to be Nahare. However, before Goku could call him by this name, they both realize it makes them both uneasy.

Why Does the Supreme Kai Shy Away From His Origins?

As a devoted fan, I must say, what’s truly captivating about this whole scenario is that Nahare appears to be estranged from his roots. It wasn’t until the Dragon Ball Daima that he disclosed that the Glind originate from a unique tree, implying they primarily require water to thrive. This is the first instance where he has delved into his origins substantially, and moreover, it was here that he acknowledged having siblings – Degesu and Dr. Arinsu.

Even though he originates from the Demonic Plane, the Supreme Kai appears to be disconnected from it. He withheld his true name until specifically questioned by Panzy, which might be due to spending extensive periods outside of his original realm. Over time, the Glind assume more prominent roles in the multiverse, as portrayed in shows like “Dragon Ball Super” and beyond. However, this expansion of influence seems to have resulted in a weakening or even severing of their initial connections to the Demonic Plane.

It’s fascinating how his absence from the Demon Realm appears to have had a significant cultural impact, and his return in “Dragon Ball Daima” is really highlighting that again. This new journey seems to be reconnecting him with his demonic heritage. That’s why Akira Toriyama decided to make him a key character for this new anime series. He serves as a link between the demon and human worlds for viewers, and it seems he’ll also bring some changes to the dynamics within the Demon Realm for the characters still there.
