Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Trailer Adds Kid Buu and More DBZ Fighters

As a seasoned Dragon Ball gamer with countless hours spent mastering the art of the Kamehameha and Fusion Dance, I must say that the latest addition to the roster for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, focusing on the Buu Saga, has me jumping for joy. While Babidi might not be the first character one would think of when it comes to a fighting game, his inclusion as a playable character is pure genius.

This week saw the release of another exciting installment titled “Dragon Ball: Ignition! Zero“. Notably, this edition emphasizes the Buu Saga from “Dragon Ball Z” which, interestingly enough, was subtly hinted at by Bandai Namco with the trailer’s title before its launch. Given that the roster for “Dragon Ball: Ignition! Z” is rapidly expanding and Buu characters have been scarce thus far, fans eagerly anticipated seeing characters like Majin Buu, Kid Buu, various forms of Buu after absorbing other fighters, and more.

Absolutely, the Buu Saga wasn’t limited to just Buu, as this trailer has also confirmed several other characters from the Dragon Ball Z universe. For instance, we can expect to see Gohan in his Great Saiyaman outfit, a character that was likely to be included eventually. The complete roster of characters confirmed by the Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Buu Saga trailer includes Great Saiyaman, Babidi, Adult Gohan, Super Saiyan, Evil Majin Buu, Super Buu, Ultimate Gohan, Super Buu (fused with Gotenks), Super Buu (with Gohan absorbed), and Kid Buu.

It wasn’t surprising that all the Buu variants and various Gohan forms were included given the rich material from the Buu Saga to draw upon. However, including Babidi as a playable character took us by surprise since he usually relies on others to carry out his dirty work in the Buu Saga. He’s not really known for engaging in direct combat himself, instead using barriers and limited offensive moves. In the trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, we saw him using one of his minions, which suggests he may use other characters in his fighting style as well.

In contrast to some previous trailers, the trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero didn’t showcase as many characters, leaving several spots open in the roster. We’re yet to find out who else will be part of the Dragon Ball game, with a total of 26 empty slots still present. Therefore, anticipate more trailers and unveilings similar to the Buu Saga announcement before the game hits shelves on October 11th.
