As a die-hard Dragon Ball fan who’s been following this series since the days of black and white TV, I must say that today’s announcement of 15 new characters for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has sent my Saiyan senses tingling with excitement! From the Ginyu Force members to Frieza in all his forms, it feels like a trip down memory lane.
Fans of Dragon Ball have been pleasantly surprised by some unexpected fighter announcements for the game, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, like Kakunsa. However, most of the fighters were anticipated in one way or another. The main question was how the characters’ various forms and transformations would be distributed, but given the number of character slots, it was clear that we’d see a different character for almost every transformation you could imagine. And indeed, this has come true today, with a new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero confirming 15 more characters from the early days of Dragon Ball Z.
As a long-time fan of Dragon Ball Z, I must say that this latest trailer has brought back fond memories of my childhood. Growing up watching Goku and his friends battle it out against various villains, the Saiyan and Namek sagas were always some of my favorites. Seeing familiar faces like Captain Ginyu and Frieza in their five different forms was a thrill, transporting me back to those exciting times. Even lesser-known characters like Cui made an appearance, reminding me that even the supporting cast had their moments to shine. This trailer has certainly piqued my interest for what’s to come in the upcoming series, and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but be excited that even lesser-known warriors from previous Dragon Ball games will make an appearance in the upcoming game, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Characters like Chiaotzu and even the Saibamen themselves are joining the fray. However, it’s hard to imagine a fair match between a Saibaman and Ultra Instinct Goku, unless there’s some strange balancing or an immense skill disparity at play.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but anticipate that Frieza will claim a substantial chunk of the new character lineup for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. With Goku, Vegeta, their transformations, and power-ups already dominating a good portion of the roster, it’s no wonder that Frieza has snagged five out of the 15 new slots announced so far. With around 50 characters yet to be unveiled before the game’s October release, I can hardly contain my excitement!
