Dragon Ball Super’s Return Drops New Secret Identity for Gohan

The anime phenomenon, Dragon Ball Daima, continues to captivate the world of animation, with iconic characters like Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and Super Saiyan 4 Goku becoming established within the shonen genre. Not only does this series air on television, but the Dragon Ball franchise has also resurrected its current manga, Dragon Ball Super, penned by the late Akira Toriyama. In a recent chapter, readers are treated to a humorous tale revolving around Goten and Trunks as they embark on their superhero journeys. Interestingly, Goten’s elder brother makes a comeback in the superhero realm, assuming a new persona along the way.

heads up: If you haven’t read Dragon Ball Super’s Chapter 104 of the manga yet, be aware that we’re about to venture into spoiler territory

It turns out that the person who motivated Goten and Trunks to take up crime fighting was a hero named “Clean God.” Rather than using energy blasts or transforming into Super Saiyan, Clean God wields a mop in combat to tackle crime. This masked superhero is giving Great Saiyaman a run for his money when it comes to humor, which is quite ironic because Gohan has now taken on the role of Clean God in the most recent chapter of the manga.

Gohan The Clean God

Funny you should ask! I can’t help but wonder how Goku’s eldest son transforms into the newest crime-fighter. Turns out, it was all thanks to Mr. Satan and the production of Holy God’s TV series. Originally, one of Hercule’s disciples was supposed to fill the role, but when the apprentice fell ill, Gohan stepped up to the plate. Donning a voice modulator and a mask, Gohan effortlessly deceived Trunks, revealing his secret identity only to Mr. Satan and Videl.

In a narrow escape, Gohan admitted that he had almost engaged in a brawl in public view. Had his secret abilities been discovered, his school life would have been jeopardized. Instead, he disguised himself as Clean God to speak, which led Trunks and Goten towards a career in crimefighting.

In the flashback, what stood out to me was how it neatly tied up the stories of all the characters connected to the superhero saga. Specifically, it was thrilling to see that Gohan’s transformation into the God-like being served as a catalyst for Trunks and Hedo to embark on their own superhero journeys. The two were most significantly affected and inspired by Gohan’s actions.

Dragon Ball Super’s Future

As Dragon Ball Daimao concludes this month, fans of shonen genres are speculating whether the finale might offer a sneak peek into the return of Dragon Ball Super’s anime adaptation. After wrapping up the Tournament of Power in 2017, the series has continued its narrative through movies like Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. With significant storylines such as the Moro Arc and the Granolah Arc still to be televised, the prospect of the anime’s return could mean years of untold stories before it catches up with its original source material.
