As a longtime enthusiast of the Dragon Ball franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement after witnessing Vegeta finally achieve a form that he had been denied for so long – Super Saiyan 3! The way he effortlessly dispatched the Tamagami in Episode 12 of Daima was nothing short of breathtaking. His unique take on the transformation, with his hair standing tall instead of falling back, is a testament to Vegeta’s individuality and his desire to stand out from Goku.
For quite some time, there’s been one ability that Goku had in the Dragon Ball series but Vegeta didn’t. Although the Saiyan Prince mastered transformations like Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and even the divine forms seen in Dragon Ball Super, it seemed he couldn’t unlock a specific form. But in an unexpected turn of events in Dragon Ball Daima, Vegeta has finally tapped into a form that was previously off-limits to him, altering the dynamics in the Demon Realm and the anime world forever.
Warning. If you haven’t seen the latest episode of Dragon Ball Daima, Episode 12, be forewarned that we’ll be diving into major spoiler territory. Despite the fact that Goku and the Z-Fighters were transformed into children thanks to Gomah’s wish, Son already demonstrated that he was able to call upon the strength of both Super Saiyan level one and two. With Vegeta looking to do the same in his fight against the Tamagami, many believed that Super Saiyan 2 was going to be the highest that the Saiyan Prince would go. To the surprise of anime fans worldwide, they would be mistaken.

Vegeta Achieves Super Saiyan 3
In a groundbreaking event for the Dragon Ball series, Vegeta, the Saiyan Prince, has for the first time ever activated Super Saiyan 3. Although we didn’t witness the training session where he mastered this form, it’s evident that he was putting in intense effort post-Majin Buu’s defeat. Interestingly, Vegeta’s SSJ3 appearance differs from Goku’s, as his hair stands upright instead of falling backward.
Utilizing a change long overdue, Vegeta breaks down the Tamagami. In a fashion reminiscent of Vegito battling Buu, the Z-Fighter maintains his arms crossed for much of the fight. Interestingly, Vegeta doesn’t use this transformation in Dragon Ball Super, but the knowledge that he could during the subsequent series is an exhilarating discovery.
Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 History
As a die-hard fan, I’ve always wondered about the moment when Vegeta would unleash his Super Saiyan 3 form – an event never before seen in the official canon! However, in the unofficial world, Vegeta has shown off this incredible power on numerous occasions. In the realm of Dragon Ball Heroes, Vegeta seems to have taken a leaf out of Goku’s book, frequently relying on the power he first demonstrated against Majin Buu. When he wields it as part of the Time Patrol, his hair transforms into something strikingly reminiscent of Son’s.
With Vegeta demonstrating his ability to tap into Super Saiyan 3 power in “Dragon Ball Daima”, it’s intriguing to speculate whether this power will manifest in the future of “Dragon Ball Super”. Although there is no confirmation regarding its anime comeback, the manga is slated for a return next year with a one-shot special, potentially laying the groundwork for the continuation of the printed storyline.
