Dragon Ball Unveils Official Crossover With My Hero Academia

As a seasoned gamer and avid anime fan with over two decades of fandom under my belt, let me tell you that this Dragon Ball-My Hero Academia collaboration has me buzzing like a Super Saiyan! The fusion of these two iconic franchises is a dream come true for me. I remember collecting Dragon Ball comics as a kid and the excitement I felt when I learned about this crossover is similar to the anticipation I had when Goku and Piccolo first clashed onscreen.

Prepare yourself, as Dragon Ball is set for an action-packed month ahead! In case you missed it, the series will be back on screen due to the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Daimaō Fusion. The iconic character Son Goku will take the lead, marking the start of a new anime chapter, and fans are already buzzing with excitement about this return. Notably, this premiere aligns perfectly with Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary! As a way to celebrate this remarkable milestone, the franchise has recently collaborated on a massive scale with My Hero Academia.

Absolutely correct! As you may have noticed, Dragon Ball and My Hero Academia are now united, a collaboration made possible by the talented Kohei Horikoshi. This gifted artist has just joined the Dragon Ball Super Gallery project, allowing you to view his incredible artwork right here.

Dragon Ball Meets My Hero Academia

Upon signing up for the Dragon Ball Super Gallery project, Horikoshi requested to sketch a fresh cover for Dragon Ball volume 13, which was originally designed by Akira Toriyama in 1988 and remains timeless. The book, displaying Kid Goku prominently on its cover, delves into his early life. After Piccolo’s pursuit of the dragon balls, Goku is compelled to team up with his companions to thwart the demon king. However, not even Roshi can prevent what’s destined to unfold.

Volume 13 of Dragon Ball is undoubtedly a timeless classic, and Horikoshi wanted to give it his own touch. He made subtle changes to the cover design while incorporating his unique style. Goku looks fantastic under Horikoshi’s creative direction, as expected. When it comes to artistic skill, few can compare to Horikoshi, and this new Dragon Ball Super Gallery piece is a testament to that fact.

The Future of Dragon Ball

For its 40th anniversary, Dragon Ball has just added another collaborative project to its roster – this time it’s a crossover. Reminiscent of the Dragon Ball Super Gallery initiative from 2021, which featured a crossover by Masashi Kishimoto, creator of Naruto, various renowned creators have since contributed to the festivities. The likes of Bleach, Chainsaw Man, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure have all had Goku join their ranks, with even more tributes on the horizon.

As Dragon Ball celebrates its 40th anniversary, it’s gearing up for something special in the near future. The highly anticipated anime, Dragon Ball Daima, is almost here, with a release date just around the corner on October 11. This exciting return to television will see Goku back on our screens since Dragon Ball Super, which has left fans eagerly awaiting this series. With six years having passed since the TV anime last provided fresh content, anticipation for this new show is at an all-time high. If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball, make sure to catch its latest anime installment next Friday!
