What to Know for New Goku Balloon

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise, Toei Animation is introducing a massive Goku balloon that spans an impressive 70.5 feet in length, 33 feet in width, and 41.5 feet in height. This grand spectacle will be featured in a parade on November 28th. The parade will be televised live on NBC in the United States on Thursday, November 28th, and for those who can’t catch it on TV, the event will also be streamed on Peacock. Masayuki Endo, President and CEO of Toei Animation Inc., expressed his excitement about debuting this new balloon during the parade.

What’s Next for Dragon Ball’s 40th Anniversary?

In honor of its 40th anniversary, the classic anime series Dragon Ball is set to debut a fresh installment titled Dragon Ball Daima. Starting October 11th, fans in the U.S. can stream this new series on both Crunchyroll and Hulu, with Netflix joining the fray from October 18th. If you’re more of a dubbed fan, get ready: Toei Animation and Fathom Events will screen the first three episodes of Dragon Ball Daima in English dub at selected theaters on November 11-13 as part of a special theater event.

This storyline, unique to both the anime and manga, was originally conceived by the late artist Akira Toriyama. Currently, Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki are overseeing the production of the series at Toei Animation. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is meticulously bringing Toriyama’s designs to life through animation, while Yuuko Kakihara is responsible for script supervision and writing.
