Ahoy there, fellow traveler! As a seasoned adventurer who’s delved into countless realms, I must say the latest reveal of the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake has me positively thrilled! The nostalgia hits like a Dragon’s Fireball, yet the fresh lick of modern polish has me eager to embark on this journey once more.
The eagerly-awaited remake of Dragon Quest 3, known as HD-2D, remains an enticing proposition as its release approaches, continually impressing in demonstrations. Square Enix has taken this opportunity to exhibit the game at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show, allowing attendees a hands-on experience. For those unable to attend in person, Square Enix has shared a fresh video featuring producer Hayasaka Masaaki, providing a glimpse into what the TGS demo offers.
The demo starts off in the town of Romaria, with the party departing and travelling across the overworld in search of their quarry, the outlaw known as Robbin’ ‘Ood. Their quest takes them to Skyfell Tower, where, upon some exploration and battles against a variety of foes, the party finally duels with Robbin’ ‘Ood himself.
Apart from displaying the previously mentioned segment (containing fresh gameplay clips of the recently introduced Monster Wrangler Profession), the TGS demo additionally highlights Monster Arenas, a feature that allows players to create teams of monsters and make them fight against other beasts, reminiscent of the popular Pokemon concept. For further information, watch the video below.
The remastered version of Dragon Quest 3, titled “Dragon Quest 3: High Definition 2D Remake,” is set to release on November 14 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. In the following year, we can look forward to the remastered versions of Dragon Quest 1 and 2, respectively.
